This dataset consists of discrete, profile measurements of pH, total alkalinity (TA), water temperature, salinity, nutrients, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll-a and phaeopigment made from various ships for calibration and validation of California Current Ecosystem (CCE) mooring time-series in the U.S. West Coast, North Pacific Ocean from 2022-10-26 to 2025-03-15. California Current Ecosystem moorings (CCE1 and CCE2) are surface buoys equipped with interdisciplinary scientific sensors including surface water and air pCO2, meteorological sensors (wind, air temperature, humidity, and air pressure), sea water temperature, salinity, currents, dissolved oxygen, pH, nutrients, and chlorophyll fluorescence. CCE1 is located offshore in the core of the California Current (CalCOFI station 80.80), and CCE2 is closer to shore on the shelf break near Point Conception (CalCOFI station 80.55). CCE moorings measure physical, biological, and chemical variables with temporal resolutions high enough to resolve event-scale phenomena, and transmit real-time data to shore. Annual cruises are conducted to recover and re-deploy the moorings. During these cruises, CTD casts are performed with water samples of salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, total alkalinity, nutrients (nitrite, nitrate, silicate, phosphate, and ammonium), chlorophyll-a, and phaeopigment.
