This collection contains GIS data layers and aerial imagery for the three coastal counties of Mississippi (Hancock County, Harrison County, and Jackson County) from a project developed after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The Katrina Impact Assessment project was created after Hurricane Katrina caused significant damage in South Mississippi in late August, 2005. The data layers and aerial imagery included in this project were first made available via ESRI's ArcIMS interactive mapping applications and then distributed on DVD media for reference and to assist with evaluations of the storm's effects on the people, the commercial entities, and the natural environment in the area.
