This dataset contains GPS positions/times from surface drifters of three different types: a thin 5-cm tall cylindrical hull, a 10-cm tall cylindrical hull, and a typical shallow drogued (CODE- or Davis-Style) drifter. Drifters were deployed offshore of Orange Beach, AL, in the Gulf of Mexico on 24 January 2017, and transmitted until 22 May, 2017.
