Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI), is a hyperspectral infrared sounder residing on the European Space Agency's (ESA) MetOp series of polar orbiting satellites. The main goal is to provide atmospheric emission spectra to derive temperature and humidity profiles with high vertical resolution and accuracy. It is a Michelson interferometer with spectral coverage between 3.6 and 15.5 micrometers. At nadir, the instrument samples data at intervals of 25 km along and a cross track, each sample having a maximum diameter of about 12 km. Currently the IASI level 2 products from MetOp-2 satellite include temperature and humidity profiles with a vertical accuracies of 1 degree Kelvin and 10% per 1-km layer respectively, trace gases, and the cloud cleared radiances (CCR) on a global scale and these products are available to the operational user community. This dataset contains information about the outgoing longwave radiation AIP. The IASI Level 2 and cloud-cleared radiances (CCR) files are NOAA-unique retrieval products generated from the EUMETSAT IASI level 1C data, the NOAA Level 1B Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A) data, and the NOAA Level 1B Microwave Humidity Sounder (MHS) data.
