The Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment-2 (GOME-2) is a nadir-viewing, medium-resolution double UV-VIS spectrometer onboard the European MetOp satellite series. GOME-2 measures ozone profiles, total columns of ozone, and other atmospheric constituents that are related to the depletion of ozone. The instruments four main channels provide continuous spectral coverage of wavelengths between 240 and 790 nm with a spectral resolution between 0.25 nm and 0.5 nm. GOME-2 Level 1b products contain radiometrically and spectrally calibrated radiances, along with auxiliary information such as geolocation, quality flags, cloud parameters and polarization information. These data are used by NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) to produce Level-2 Ozone products. GOME-2 Level-1b products are produced by the European Organization for Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) and distributed by NOAA's Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) in the EPS Native Format.
