    "description": "This global Level-2 (L2) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains daytime suspended matter (SM) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP satellite at a spatial resolution of 750 meters at nadir. SM types include smoke, dust, volcanic ash and sea salt. SM is detected using VIIRS spectral bands M1 (412 nm) to M5 (672 nm) over land and M7 (865 nm) to M11 (2.25 micron) over ocean. The algorithm also requires inputs from the VIIRS Cloud Mask (VCM) and Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) Intermediate Product (IP). This data set is produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and is distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) as aggregated 5.7 minute files consisting of 4 (86 second) granules in the HDF5 file format with metadata attributes included. Note: This product is deprecated and has been replaced by an updated version produced from NDE (gov.noaa.ncdc:C01441).",
