    "description": "This dataset includes chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from ARNI FRIDRIKSSON and BJARNI SAEMUNDSSON in the North Greenland Sea from 1985-02-22 to 2013-11-26. These data include DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide - water, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, WATER TEMPERATURE, phosphate and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle.\n\nThese data were collected by J\u00f3n \u00d3lafsson of Icelandic Marine Research Institute (MRI) as part of the CARINA_Iceland_Sea_Time_Series_V2 dataset. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this dataset: Iceland_Sea_Time_Series_V2\n\nThe CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent dataset of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.\n\nThe Global CO2 Time-series and Moorings Project involves international groups from 18 countries who have mounted sensors on moored buoys to provide high resolution time-series measurements of atmospheric boundary layer and surface ocean CO2 partial pressure (pCO2). The CO2 Time-series and Moorings Project is coordinated by UNESCO International Ocean Carbon Coordination Project (IOCCP).",
