ACSIM; Simulation Model of an Air Conditioner

ACSIM is a simulation tool for single-stage air conditioning systems comprising a compressor, finned-tube evaporator and condenser, thermostatic and electronic expansion valves, and interconnecting tubing. The program incorporates evaporator and condenser models from EVAP-COND, a stand-alone simulation tool developed by NIST for air-to-refrigerant heat exchangers ( https://www.nist.gov/services-resources/software/evap-cond-version-50). Consistent with EVAP-COND, ACSIM uses refrigerant thermophysical properties based on the NIST Standard Reference Data 23; NIST Reference Fluid Thermodynamic and Transport Properties Database (REFPROP): Version 10.0 (http://www.nist.gov/srd/nist23.cfm) and uses refrigerant property look-up tables to facilitate fast simulations. ACSIM installation module does not provide REFPROP fluid files, which need to be loaded by the user after ACSIM installation.
