RGTM 10235: Forensic DNA Resource Samples Data

RGTM 10235 is composed of eight well-quantified DNA extracts. Samples include three single-source samples, two degraded samples, and three mixture samples. RGTM 10235 allows the community to publicly share data generated, results of methods examined, and genetic profiles due to their informed consent. The capillary electrophoresis (CE) data which is hosted here was generated by NIST on a 3500xL Genetic Analyzer from Applied Biosystems with a 36 cm capillary array and POP-4 polymer. The 8 RGTM 10235 samples were amplified with six short tandem repeat (STR) multiplex kits according to manufacturer's protocol (with the only exception of a 15 second injection time): GlobalFiler Express and Yfiler Plus Kits (Thermo Fisher Scientific), PowerPlex Fusion 6C and PowerPlex Y23 Systems (Promega), and Investigator 24plex and Investigator Argus Y-28 QS (QIAGEN). The data files are provided as .hid files from the 3500xL instrument. This work was conducted with approval from the NIST Research Protections Office. Certain commercial equipment, instruments, and materials are identified in order to specify experimental procedures as completely as possible. In no case does such identification imply a recommendation or endorsement by NIST, nor does it imply that any of the materials, instruments, or equipment identified are necessarily the best available for the purpose. This data shall not be uploaded or searched in a private, commercial or genealogy database. In the event that users determine the identity of any individual related to RGTM 10235, they shall not make use of such knowledge, shall safeguard or destroy such information, shall not disclose such information to any other party, and shall notify NIST of such discovery in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in effect at the time of the discovery.
