OOI-RCA Leg A, B, C and D

This project was conducted in collaboration with NOAA's Office of Coast Survey (OCS) and the Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program (CMHRP) of the USGS across several large portions of the Cascadia continental margin, offshore of California and Oregon.

This nowCOAST™ time-enabled map service provides maps depicting the latest surface weather and marine weather observations at observing sites using the international station model. The station model is a method for representing information collected at an observing station using symbols and numbers.

This nowCOAST™ time-offsets map service provides maps depicting the NWS surface wind speed forecasts from the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) at 6-hr increments out to 3 days (NDFD has forecasts out to 7 days which are available via the nowCOAST™ time enabled map service for NDFD elements). Each forecast is valid for the specified forecast projection hour with respect to the latest update cycle time. The forecast is valid at 10 m (33 feet) above ground level. The wind speeds are in units of knots (1 knot = 1.15 miles per hour).

These data were collected from the Atlantic Deepwater Ecosystem Observatory Network (ADEON) and deployed in November of 2018 for the U.S. Mid- and South Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). This dataset is approximately 12 months of continuous data collection, see files for start and end dates and times of collection. VAC site trawled up by fishing boat in July 2019. JAX site data was not recovered until Dec 2020 as the bottom-lander housing the AZFP was buried in sand and had to be rescued by robot.
