International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) Release 3.1 Final, Individual Reports in the International Maritime Meteorological Archive Format version 1 (IMMA1)

This dataset, the International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS), is the most widely-used freely available collection of surface marine observations, with over 455 million individual marine reports spanning 1662-2014-each containing the observations and metadata reported from a given ship, buoy, coastal platform, or oceanographic instrument, providing data for the construction of gridded analyses of sea surface temperature, estimates of air-sea interaction and other meteorological variables.

NOAA Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Level 1 Event Data

This dataset contains the Level 1 (L1) raw radar event data recorded at Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) sites and collected by the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) Radar Operations Center (ROC) for specific radar case studies. It includes only the Level 1 data that has been used for algorithm development and verification by the ROC and its partners. NEXRAD operational sites and test sites are used. The dataset period of record starts in 2008 with new data added approximately every year. The number of case studies per year ranges from 1 to 33, with an average of approximately 10 per year.

Adaptive Ecosystem Climatology Beta 4 Model and Satellite Climatology

The Adaptive Ecosystem Climatology (AEC) is produced by the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). It consists of two datasets covering multiple regions of the ocean. One is a climatology derived from satellite data, the other is a climatology derived from a computer model of parts of the ocean that simulates physical and biological phenomena. The satellite climatology has data for chlorophyll concentration and sea surface temperature. The model climatology has fields for sea surface height, temperature, current, and concentrations of various types of plankton on the surface and underwater.

NOAA 0.25-degree Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST), Version 2.1

This high-resolution sea surface temperature (SST) analysis product was developed using an optimum interpolation (OI) technique. The OISST analysis has a spatial grid resolution of 0.25 degree and temporal resolution of 1 day, spanning from September 1981 to present. The analysis was constructed by combining observations from different platforms on a regular global grid, including Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) satellite data, ships, buoys and Argo floats. A spatially complete SST map was produced by interpolating to fill in spatial gaps.

International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) Near-Real-Time (NRT) Release 3.0.2, 2015 to Present

The International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) Near-Real-Time (NRT) product has been updated to a new version, Release 3.0.2. The new version includes blended preliminary NRT observations from ocean platforms distributed in Traditional Alphanumeric Code (TAC) and Binary Universal Form for the Representation of meteorological data (BUFR) formats collected from the WMO Global Telecommunications System (GTS).

NOAA Climate Data Record (CDR) of Intersatellite Calibrated Clear-Sky High Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS) Channel 12 Brightness Temperature Version 3.2

The High-Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS) of intersatellite calibrated channel 12 brightness temperature product is a gridded global monthly time series product spanning from 1979 to the most current full month, updated monthly. Among the twenty channels in the HIRS instrument, channel 12 measures upper tropospheric water vapor. Multiple polar orbiting satellites in the NOAA Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) and MetOp series have carried HIRS instruments.

El Salvador Precipitation Strip Chart Digital Image Records

This dataset consists of images and keyed data of daily precipitation strip charts for the country of El Salvador and have a period of record ranging from 1984 to 2010. The strip charts were rescued and imaged by the International Environmental Data Rescue Organization (IEDRO). These precipitation chart forms contain continuous ink traces representing the instantaneous measurement of rainfall amounts for a 24-hour period. The chart form background has a calibrated grid (usually in mm or inches) superimposed on the chart.
