WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from USCGC HAMILTON in the Caribbean Sea from 1991-04-21 to 1991-05-12 (NCEI Accession 9100134)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The data in this accession were collected in Caribbean Sea from USCG HAMILTON between April 21, 1991 to May 12, 1991. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Coast Guard. One hundred and twenty seven stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and are present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains datasets collected over a period of one year. The cruises were conducted using many different ships as part of Shipboard Environmental data Acquisition System (SEAS) III program. The bathythermograph (XBT) data was collected between April 4, 1990 and April 16, 1991. The data were sent from the cruise ships to the National Ocean Service, Rockville, MD via telecommunication. This data containing 934 observations is currently available in the C116 file format of NODC.

WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from USCGC HAMILTON from 1991-06-27 to 1991-07-25 (NCEI Accession 9100144)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The data in this accession were collected from ship HAMILTON between June 27, 1991 to July 25, 1991. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Coast Guard. Sixty three stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and are present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.

ABSORPTION, SCATTERING, ATTENUATION COEFFICIENTS from SATELLITE From World-Wide Distribution from 1991-01-01 to 1991-06-30 (NCEI Accession 9100148)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Global blended Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) data for January-June 1991 was provided by Ms. Diane Marsico of the Climate Analysis Center (CAC), National Weather Service, Camp Springs MD. SST were collected from ships and buoys (in situ) and from satellites. Blended SST's eliminate biases or large scale trends in the satellite data by using in situ data as anchor points.

PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, cloud amount/frequency and other data from COLUMBUS ISELIN in the North American Coastline-South and South Atlantic Ocean from 1990-05-23 to 1990-06-13 (NCEI Accession 9100150)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Data was collected from R/V COLUMBUS ISELIN in South Atlantic Ocean and North American Coast line-South during the Amazon Shelf Sediment Study (AMASSEDS) between May 23, 1990 to June 13, 1990. The data parameters were: pressure, temperature, salinity, oxygen, fluorescence and sediment concentration. A Neil Brown Instrument Systems Model MKIII CTD was used as the primary profiling instrument. A Sea Tech 5 cm path length Transmissometer and a Sea Tech Fluorometer were mounted near the CTD fish.

Trace Metal and Ancillary Data in Puget Sound, 1980 - 1986 (NCEI Accession 9100153)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

In first of three data reports on the trace metal and ancillary data in Puget Sound and its watershed (Paulson et al., 1991a), all water column, sediment, and sediment trap data from the urban embayments and the watersheds discharging into Puget Sound between 1979 and January 1986 were reported. In the second data report (Paulson et al., 1991b), the complete data set between 1980 and January 1985 for the open waters of Puget Sound was presented, In this third data report, data from a single cruise in the urban embayments and open waters of Puget Sound during August 1986 are listed.
