WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from MULTIPLE SHIPS in the World-Wide Distribution from 1988-01-01 to 1991-11-05 (NCEI Accession 9100226)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

U.S. Naval radio message bathythermograph data submitted to NODC as part of the declassification process at the Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center (FNOC). Data were recorded in MOODS (Master Oceanographic Observation Data Set) format and submitted to NODC on a 9-track, 6250 BPI magnetic tape. The records and blocks are variable length. Documentation includes printouts of the data summary totals and dumps of the first and last data blocks. Arthur D.

WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from USCGC CHASE in the NW Atlantic from 1991-09-22 to 1991-11-11 (NCEI Accession 9100235)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The data in this accession were collected in NW Atlantic (limit-40 W) from ship CHASE between September 22, 1991 to November 11, 1991. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Navy. Twenty one radio logs and no stripcharts were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and are present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.
