SEASOAR and CTD observations during COARE Surveys Cruise W9211C in the Pacific Ocean from 1992-11-01 to 1993-02-16 (NCEI Accession 9400067)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

An international Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment (COARE) was conducted in the warm-pool region of the western equatorial Pacific Ocean over a four-month period from November 1992 through February 1993 (Webster and Lukas, 1992). Most of the oceanographic and meteorological observations were concentrated in the Intensive Flux Array (IFA) centered at 1 degree, 45'S, 156 degree East. As part of this experiment, R/V Wecoma conducted three survey cruises.

Sound velocity and other data from USS STUMP (DD-978) (NCEI Accession 9400069)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The sound velocity data in this accession were collected from USS STUMP DD-978 by US Navy. The sound velocity in water is analog profiles data that was recorded in stripcharts. Radio logs are forms that contain time, weather latitude/longitude, vessel id, ship id, etc. These are radioed every two hours to some military center. One line per strip chart. Some strip charts have time/date/ship id/latitude/longitude annotated on the strip chart. Thirty four stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC by the US Navy, San Diego, CA.

CURRENT DIRECTION, turbidity and other data from FIXED STATIONS, DRIFTING PLATFORM and UNKNOWN in the Beaufort Sea from 1985-01-01 to 1988-12-31 (NCEI Accession 9400070)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The database from the Endicott Environmental Monitoring Program contains oceanographic, meteorological, and fisheries data for the Prudhoe Bay region (North Alaska, Beaufort Sea, around 152 degrees W /68 degrees N) from 1985-1987. The Endicott program was implemented by Ebasco Environmental and collected meteorological and oceanographic (CTD, currents) data, as well as data related to fisheries, river discharge, coastal sediments, and snow geese program elements. Some of the oceanographic data is related to currents flowing through breaches in the Endicott causeway.
