CURRENT - DIRECTION and Other Data from FIXED STATIONS From North Atlantic Ocean and Others from 1987-10-16 to 1990-06-16 (NCEI Accession 9400108)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

[From the May 1990 report, data/0-data/88-89/report89.txt] The SYNoptic Ocean Prediction experiment (SYNOP) was undertaken with the goal that increased understanding of the Gulf Stream obtained through coordinated observations could be integrated with numerical models, including predictive models of the Gulf Stream. Our moored experiment, which began in fall of 1987, consists of two separate arrays in the Gulf Stream as part of the SYNOP program.

Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data from LITTLE DIPPER in the Gulf of Alaska from 1992-01-28 to 1994-05-25 (NCEI Accession 9400110)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data were collected in Gulf of Alaska. Data was collected from R/V LITTLE DIPPER. The data was collected over a period spanning from January 28, 1992, to May 25, 1994. Oceanographic time series CTD data in 33 files was submitted in a diskette by Dr. Thomas C. Royer, Institute of Marine Science, University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK. CTD data is available in F022-CTD-Hi Resolution file format of NODC.

Current meter data from moored current meter casts in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska as part of the Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI) project from 1991-04-04 to 1992-09-23 (NCEI Accession 9400111)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Current meter data were collected using moored current meter casts in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska from April 4, 1991 to September 23, 1992. Data were submitted by Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) as part of the Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI) project. SOUND VELOCITY and Other Data from FLETCHER from 1994-01-01 to 1994-06-30 (NCEI Accession 9400112)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The sound velocity data in this accession were collected from ship FLETCHER between January 1, 1994 and June 30, 1994 by US Navy. The sound velocity in water is analog profiles data that was recorded in stripcharts. Radio logs are forms that contain time, weather latitude/longitude, vessel id, ship id, etc. These are radioed every two hours to some military center. One line per strip chart. Some strip charts have time/date/ship id/latitude/longitude annotated on the strip chart. 101 sound velocity stripcharts and 41 radio logs were submitted to NODC by the US Navy, San Diego, CA.
