WATER TEMPERATURE, SALINITY, and CURRENT VELOCITIES collected using RVIB Oden and RVIB Araon in the Amundsen Sea from 2010-02-15 to 2014-01-24 (NCEI Accession 0163357)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains hydrographic data from 3 bottom-mounted moorings on the Amundsen Sea shelf from 2010-02-15 to 2014-01-24. The moorings each have an upward-looking ADCP located near the bottom to measure velocities through the water column, and varying numbers of Microcat CTD sensors on the mooring line to measure temperature and salinity.

Eastward and northward components of ocean current velocity collected from moorings in North East Pacific Coast from 1967-09-01 to 1969-10-16 (NCEI Accession 0163399)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The University of Washington recovered 8 current meters, B,C,N,O,S,V,Z,AA deployed on the continental shelf off the Washington coast. Current meters used were Braincon (BR) instruments measuring speed and direction. Data was sampled in 20 minute intervals, then edited for spurious values. Smoothing was done on the components of the velocity vector, using a 9 point binomial filter. Data file format is plain text.

Eastward and northward components of ocean current velocity and water temperature collected from moorings in North East Pacific Coast from 1971-02-03 to 1971-11-15 (NCEI Accession 0163565)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The University of Washington maintained an Inshore and Offshore mooring off the coast of Washington as part of the Continental Shelf Experiment 1971. Most of the current meters used were Braincon type 381 (14), but 5 Aanderaa model RCM-4s were introduced on the October moorings. Speed and direction were measured and rotated to true North, then resolved into u and v components. The Aanderaa meters had temperature sensors. Data was sampled in 10 minute intervals and edited for spurious values.

Eastward and northward components of ocean current velocity and water temperature collected from moorings in the vicinity of Astoria Canyon in the North East Pacific Coast from 1978-01-14 to 1978-12-13 (NCEI Accession 0163612)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The University of Washington maintained 8 current meter moorings, AC781 through AC788 in and around Astoria Canyon. Current meters were a mix of Aanderaa (AA) and Braincon (BR) instruments. The Braincon instruments were used as backup only and no data was archived. Speed, direction and temperature were measured by the Aanderaa meters. Speed and direction were measured and rotated to true North. Data was sampled in 20 minute intervals, then edited for spurious values.

Pacific Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program: Towed-diver Surveys of Large-bodied Fishes of the U.S. Pacific Reefs from 2000-09-09 to 2012-05-19 (NCEI Accession 0163744)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The towed-diver method is used to conduct surveys of large-bodied (> 50 cm) fishes in the Hawaiian and Mariana Archipelagos, American Samoa, and the Pacific Remote Island Areas as part of the NOAA National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP). A suitable method for assessing relatively large areas of reef habitat, the method involves towing a pair of SCUBA divers—one benthic and one fish—behind a small boat for approximately 50 min following the ~15-m depth contour and covering about 2–3 km of habitat.

Pacific Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program: Towed-diver Surveys of Benthic Habitats, Key Benthic Species, and Marine Debris Sightings of the U.S. Pacific Reefs from 2000-09-09 to 2012-05-19 (NCEI Accession 0163745)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The towed-diver method is used to conduct benthic surveys, assessing large-scale disturbances (e.g., bleaching) and quantifying benthic components such as habitat complexity/type and the general distribution and abundance patterns of live coral, CCA, macroalgae, and macroinvertebrates. Surveys are conducted in the Hawaiian and Mariana Archipelagos, American Samoa, and the Pacific Remote Island Areas as part of the NOAA National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP).
