Surface underway measurements of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water and atmosphere, sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity and barometric pressure obtained during the M/V Tavastland cruises in the Baltic Sea in 2021 (NCEI Accession 0247604)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset includes surface underway measurements of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water and atmosphere, sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity and barometric pressure collected during the M/V Tavastland cruises in the Baltic Sea in from 2021-05-01 to 2021-12-06. A General Oceanics (GO) pCO2 system (model 8050) was used for pCO2 measurements. The system is described in detail in Pierrot (2009). Surface water is pumped continuously from the intake to the equilibrator.

Surface underway measurements of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water and atmosphere, sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity and barometric pressure obtained during R/V Celtic Explorer research cruises in the North Atlantic Ocean and North Sea in 2021 (NCEI Accession 0247632)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset includes surface underway, chemical, meteorological and physical data collected during R/V Celtic Explorer research cruises in the North Atlantic Ocean and North Sea from 2021-02-18 to 2021-08-29. The measurements are done with a pCO2 instrument from General Oceanics (Miami/USA) and is described in detail in Pierrot et al.(2009). Surface water is pumped continuously from the intake to the equilibrator. The equilibrator contains a water spray head, and as the water flows through it the dissolved CO2 equilibrates with the headspace.

Dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on total scale, and other variables collected from discrete samples and profile observations during the R/V F. G. Walton Smith cruise WS21151 (EXPOCODE 33WA20210531) in the North Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico from 2021-05-31 to 2021-06-06 (NCEI Accession 0248264)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains the discrete profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on total scale, ammonia, water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and nutrients during the R/V F. G. Walton Smith cruise WS21151 (EXPOCODE 33WA20210531) in the North Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico from 2021-05-31 to 2021-06-06. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification.

Model projections to the year 2116 of ocean acidification effects on the fishing profit, effort, and mortality of North Pacific crab stocks (snow crabs, Chionoecetes opilio; Tanner Crabs, Chionoecetes bairdi) in the Eastern Bering Sea for the OA Projections for Snow, Tanner, and Red King Crab in Alaska project using data collected from 1997-01-01 to 2016-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0248327)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains model output data to understand the effect of ocean acidification on the snow crab and southern Tanner crab fisheries. A multi-species size-structured population dynamics model that can account for spatial structure and technical interactions between commercial fisheries was developed and applied to the snow and southern Tanner crab fisheries in the eastern Bering Sea. The model used fisheries data collected in the eastern Bering Sea crab fisheries from 1997-01-01 to 2016-12-31.
