Carbon dioxide from surface underway survey in global oceans from 1968 to 2006 (Version 1.0) (NCEI Accession 0040205)

More than 3 million measurements of surface water partial pressure of CO2 obtained over the global oceans during 1968 to 2006 are listed in the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory database, which includes open ocean and coastal water measurements. The data assembled include only those measured by equilibrator CO2 analyzer systems and have been quality-controlled based on the stability of the system performance, the reliability of calibrations for CO2 analysis, and the internal consistency of data. Versions up to 2007 are included in this dataset

Physical profile data collected aboard the F/V Columbia in the Gulf of Alaska during the Lower Cook Inlet (Alaska) seasonal hydrographic surveys, 2005-01-08 to 2005-01-10 (NCEI Accession 0040248)

This is the CTD data from one of sixteen cruises in lower Cook Inlet. Four CTDs were used, but most also included fluorescence, transmissometer, and oxygen measurements. There were 3 to 7 transect lines occupied. Profiles were from the surface to the extent of a 200 m line. A few profiles were conducted on a slightly longer line. The dataset was formatted for use with Ocean Data View software.

Currents in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii 2005-2007 in support of fresh water plume studies performed by the Department of Oceanography at the University of Hawaii (NCEI Accession 0040251)

Freshwater plumes from rain run-off into Kaneohe Bay is the focus for the investigation. Measurements in this data set are currents as measured by an moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and a Nortek current meter. Data were collected during November 2005 - March 2007 by members of the Department of Oceanography at the University of Hawaii. The ADCP sensor includes temperature at the transducer depth of 13 m. The Nortek current meter included ancillary measurements including temperature and pressure.

Temperature and salinity profiles were collected from the CTD casts. Sound velocity profiles were collected from the sound velocimeter casts. Data are self documenting and are in plain ASCII text.
