Zooplankton, salinity, fluorescence, and temperature data were collected from the ALPHA HELIX from July 22, 1999 to August 14, 1999. Data were submitted by University of Alaska - Fairbanks; Institute of Marine Science. Data were collected using oblique tows in Bering Sea.

In an effort to detect spatial and temporal changes in the structure of the coral reef community, coral coverage and reef fish density and diversity were documented at selected sites along the coastline of the Big Island of Hawaii using standard transect methodology and SCUBA. The data were collected as training for students within the Quantitative Underwater Ecological Surveying Techniques (QUEST) Program of the Kalakaua Marine Educational Center at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Several sites have been established.

Data were collected using bottle and CTD in the Bering Sea and Northeast Pacific Ocean.

Geochemical behaviour of the top 70 cm of permeable reef flat sediments on Checker Reef, Oahu, Hawaii was examined using spatial and temporal changes in pore water dissolved oxygen, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, and nitrous oxide. This patch reef was monitored immediately following significant wave events between October 1996 and July 1997 to study the hydraulic control of pore water geochemistry within the oxic- suboxic zone of a permeable sediment.

The sea area of the western North Pacific Ocean off the northeastern part of Japan is called Tohoku Sea Area. The hydrography in the sea area is complicated by influences of the Kuroshio Extension, the Oyashio Water, and the Tsugaru Warm Water systems. The sea area is one of the most productive fishery grounds in the world. The present study aims to reveal long-term variations of zooplankton biomass, which are preyed upon by pelagic fishes that migrated to this area, and to evaluate the functional role of the zooplankton community in relation to fishery resources.
