In response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, scientists from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) conducted on-site monitoring of dispersed oil at the request of BP. This dataset contains structured content and unstructured content. The structured content is the CSIRO shipboard measurements including CTD vertical profiles, towed fluorometry, onboard hydrocarbon sensors and GCMS data. Unstructured content is associated with shipboard measurements, including photos, raw data files/casts, cast profiles, sonar contacts, daily reports and cruise summaries.

Archived data include measurements of apparent and inherent optical properties, phytoplankton pigment concentrations, and other related oceanographic and atmospheric data, such as water temperature, salinity, stimulated fluorescence, and aerosol optical thickness.

NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) orthorectified mosaic image tiles, Lake Champlain, Vermont, 2009-2010 (NCEI Accession 0086488)

This data set contains orthorectified mosaic tiles, created as a product from the NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) initiative. The source imagery was acquired from 20091019 - 20100621. The images were acquired with an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS). The original images were acquired at a higher resolution than the final orthorectified mosaic. Orthorectified mosaic tiles are an ancillary product of NOAA's Coastal Mapping Program (CMP), created through a wider Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping initiative to increase support for multiple uses of the data.

The NOAA Coastal Services Center purchased digital ADS40 imagery and digital elevation models of the Connecticut coastline in 2004. The Coastal Connecticut project area is comprised of approximately 930 square miles. A total of 244 orthos (122 natural color and 122 color infrared) were produced to cover this area. Aerial imagery was collected in panchromatic, Red, Green, Blue and Near Infrared which yielded a natural color and false color infrared version of the completed digital orthophotography. Imagery was collected at an approximate altitude of 15,750 feet above mean terrain.

The Coral Reef Temperature Anomaly Database (CoRTAD) is a collection of sea surface temperature (SST) and related thermal stress metrics, developed specifically for coral reef ecosystem applications but relevant to other ecosystems as well. The CoRTAD Version 4 contains global, approximately 4 km resolution SST data on a weekly time scale from 1981 through 2010.
