Physical data collected from Seaglider SG104 during Iceland Scotland Ridge, 31 August 2007 in the North Atlantic Ocean deployed from 2007-09-01 to 2007-11-13 (NCEI Accession 0117368)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Seaglider is a buoyancy driven autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) developed by scientists and engineers at the University of Washington's School of Oceanography and Applied Physics Laboratory. Seagliders are designed to glide from the ocean surface to a programmed depth and back while measuring temperature, salinity, depth-averaged current, and other quantities along a sawtooth trajectory through the water. Seaglider has entered wide use in scientific deployments. They are designed for missions in range of several thousand kilometers and durations of many months.

Oceanographic and meteorological data from meteorological sensors and bottle/rosette/net and CTD taken from Russian vessels in the Caspian, Azov and Black Seas from 1897 to 2012 (NCEI Accession 0117429)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Cruises took place from May 1897 to December 2012 in the Caspian, Azov and Black Seas. Russian vessels were used to collect data in the open sea. Small boats were used to collect data in the coastal zone. Oceanographic data were used for weather forecasting and monitoring the state of the biological resources of Caspian, Azov and Black Seas.

Geological, biological, and chemical data for Benthic Sediment Baseline Study of Mobile Bay from 1980-04-03 to 1981-08-26 (NCEI Accession 0117430)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Beginning in late 1979, the Alabama Coastal Area Board (CAB) funded a series of baseline surveys on the coastal resources of Alabama, from which they could develop a monitoring program to observe any significant changes in the resources over time. Eight stations within Mobile Bay were sampled monthly from April 1980 to April 1981. Data collected included samples for benthic fauna, pelagic fauna, sediment particle size, total organic carbon, foraminifera, zooplankton, phytoplankton, chlorophyll, turbidity, river flow, and hydrographic parameters.

Phytoplankton and zooplankton samples taken from Russian vessels in the Caspian, Black, Azov, Barents, Kara, and White Seas from 1999 to 2011 (NCEI Accession 0117462)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Cruises took place from July 1999 to October 2011 in the Caspian, Black, Azov, Barents, Kara and White Seas. Russian vessels were used to collect data in the open sea. Small boats also used to collect data in the coastal zone. Cruises were part of the long-term Ecological Monitoring programs funded by the Russian Academy of Sciences. Plankton data were used for studying the influence of the environment on the state of the marine life.
