Short-lived radioisotope, sediment core photographs, and bulk density and porewater data from sediment cores collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruises WB-0813 and WB-1405 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2013-08-15 to 2013-09-27 (NCEI Accession 0229075)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains short-lived radioisotope (SLRad), sediment core photographs, and bulk density/porewater data from sediment cores collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruises WB-0813 and WB-1405 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2013-08-15 to 2013-09-27. Bulk density/porewater data reports measurements of sediment sample wet weight (g) and dry weight (g) for core sub-samples at 2mm sampling intervals for “surficial unit” and 5mm sampling resolution intervals to the base of cores. SLRad data were generated for selected core sub-samples.

Water temperature, salinity, and oxygen taken by CTD and water sampling from NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown, cruise RB-20-06, in the Northwestern Tropical Atlantic from 2020-10-11 to 2020-10-25 (NCEI Accession 0229563)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and oxygen profiles taken by CTD and water sampling. Cruise RB-20-06 by NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown in 2020 had the objective to service moored platforms for the NTAS and MOVE projects (Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station and Meridional Overturning Variability Experiment). To calibrate and validate the mooring data, CTD casts with salinity water samples were collected; these data are reported here. The CTD sensor data have been quality-controlled and adjusted using the water sample data. The raw CTD data are available as separate files.

Oceanographic data, logs, and imagery collected during the Deepwater Atlantic Habitats II: Continued Atlantic Research and Exploration in Deepwater Ecosystems with Focus on Coral, Canyon and Seep Communities 2019 (DEEP SEARCH - AT41) expedition on R/V Atlantis in the North Pacific Ocean from 2018-08-19 to 2018-09-02 (NCEI Accession 0229612)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains oceanographic data (ADCP, CTD, underway), submersible data, images, and documentation. The cruise focused on several seep sites, canyons, and hard bottom features located less than 100 nm offshore. The goal of this expedition was to validate several seep targets, image and map seeps, canyons (e.g., Keller, Pamlico, Hatteras, and unnamed canyons), and hard bottom features located between Virginia and Georgia.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset consists of surface measurements of partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2), pH on total scale, water temperature, salinity, and other variables in the Casco Bay, Gulf of Maine from 2015-04-23 to 2020-06-12. The central goal of this project was to install continuous monitoring sensors in Casco Bay to measure ocean and coastal acidification parameters at high temporal resolution. The system was installed at the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) pier in South Portland, Maine.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity - surface water, microbial abundance, and others taken by CTD and water samples. As a part of the Malaspina circumnavigation cruise, the BIO Hesperides crossed US waters around Hawaii. CTD casts were used to obtain water for measurements of microbial abundance and nutrients and chlorophyll data. Data for three stations around Hawaii (one unclear whether is at the border of the territorial waters). This dataset is U.S. State Department MSR U2011-009 as part of the World Data Service for Oceanography. Data are in XLS and TEXT formats.

Derelict fishing nets tagged with satellite buoys in Pearl and Hermes Atoll in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and tracked from 2018-09-30 to 2021-09-14 (NCEI Accession 0229980)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This pilot study follows the movements of 6 derelict fishing nets over time to study how far derelict nets can travel within an atoll, and how long they remain stationary. Six floating derelict fishing nets were located and tagged with satellite buoys in Pearl and Hermes Atoll in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands during a marine debris removal mission in 2018. Locations of the 6 nets were transmitted every four hours from 09-30-2018 until the buoys broke free or stopped transmitting due to technical reasons.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Southeast Florida Diving and Snorkeling Reef Expenditures Data (“FloridaSnorkelDiveExpenditures_Data2016-17.csv”) consists of expenditure data collected via an online survey during October 2016 to October 2017 in Southeast Florida. The sampling strategy used in this data collection was a two-pronged approach and included a random sample drawn from all registered boaters in Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties, and an opportunistic sample that was obtained through collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholder entities.
