This dataset consists of surface underway measurements of partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water, sea surface temperature, salinity and pH collected by IMOCA 60 11th hour racing / 1 degree in 2020 as part of The Ocean Race - Racing with Purpose project. For oceanographic observations, the 6th generation OceanPack by SubCtech is used to measure fCO2(pCO2,xCO2), sea surface salinity and sea surface temperature. The sampled water was pumped from the keel inlet of an average depth of 1.5 m for continuous measurements.

The RESTORE Council Monitoring and Assessment Program (CMAP) uses a Monitoring Community of Practice, coordinated by the Gulf of Mexico Alliance, and a Monitoring Coordination Committee to leverage existing resources, capacities, and expertise. This project builds on existing monitoring programs, which will be coordinated into a network, to provide efficiency in monitoring and collaborative cross-program review of performance with other Gulf ecosystem recovery efforts.

This dataset includes lab-based measurements of ocean acidification on Caribbean bioeroders (endolithic algae and reef-excavating sponges) collected on Cheeca Rocks Reef, Florida Keys, Northwest Atlantic Ocean, from 2018-06-11 to 2018-07-12. Caribbean coral reef ecosystems have entered a state of net erosion in response to ocean acidification (OA) due to a combination of reduced carbonate production and enhanced bioerosion. The negative response of coral reef calcifiers to OA has been well-established, whereas OA-enhanced bioerosion is relatively poorly understood.

This archive package contains water temperature data collected using subsurface temperature recorders (STRs) that aid in the monitoring of seawater temperature variability at permanent coral reef sites in Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary as part of the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program’s (CRCP’ s) National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP). High-accuracy STRs are made by SeaBird Electronics (SBE) and deployed on the reef for a period of 3 years.
