State of the Climate Monthly Overview - National Overview
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The State of the Climate is a collection of periodic summaries recapping climate-related occurrences on both a global and national scale. The State of the Climate Monthly Overview-National Overview summarizes observations of surface temperature and precipitation data for the United States by placing the data into historical perspective. The National Overview provides access to monthly, 3-month/seasonal, 6-month, 12-month and annual climate summaries by state, division and region.

United States Air Force 14th Weather Squadron Surface Weather Observations (Restricted)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The 14th Weather Squadron of the U.S. Air Force (USAF-14WS) creates a comprehensive dataset of weather observations; these observations stem from hundreds of domestic and international networks on a daily basis. Observations cover a broad spectrum of information that are incorporated into the NOAA Integrated Surface Data product.

Quality Controlled Local Climatological Data (QCLCD) Publication
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Quality Controlled Local Climatological Data (QCLCD) contains summaries from major airport weather stations that include a daily account of temperature extremes, degree days, precipitation amounts and winds. Also included are the hourly precipitation amounts and abbreviated 3-hourly weather observations. The source data is global hourly (DSI 3505) which includes a number of quality control checks. The local climatological data annual file is produced from the National Weather Service (NWS) first and second order stations.

NOAA Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) I-M and N-P Series Imager Data
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The NOAA Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) series provides continuous measurements of the atmosphere and surface over the Western Hemisphere. The GOES satellites circle the Earth in a geosynchronous orbit, which means they orbit the equatorial plane of the Earth at a speed matching the Earth's rotation. This orbit allows them to hover continuously over one position on the surface of the Earth. The geosynchronous plane is about 35,800 km (22,300 miles) above the Earth, high enough to allow the satellites a full-disc view of the Earth.

NOAA NEXt-Generation RADar (NEXRAD) Products
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset consists of Level III weather radar products collected from Next-Generation Radar (NEXRAD) stations located in the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and at military base sites. NEXRAD is a network of 160 high-resolution Doppler weather radars operated by the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the U.S. Air Force (USAF).

NOAA Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellites (POES) Radiometer Data
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) series offers the advantage of daily global coverage, by making nearly polar orbits 14 times per day approximately 520 miles above the surface of the Earth. The Earth's rotation allows the satellite to see a different view with each orbit, and each satellite provides two complete views of a location around the world each day.

International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) with Enhanced Trimming, Release 3
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains the latest official release of International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) with Enhanced Trimming, provided in a common format: the International Maritime Meteorological Archive (IMMA format). The dataset provides point observations with full global coverage, from 1662 to 2014. Surface meteorological variables over the ocean, including sea surface temperature, are available where observed. All observations in this collection from the latest ICOADS Release data set are "enhanced" filtered.

Rapid Refresh (RAP) [20 km]
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Rapid Refresh (RAP) numerical weather model took the place of the Rapid Update Cycle (RUC) on May 1, 2012. Run by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), RAP runs with two versions. The first generates weather data on a 13-km (8-mile) resolution horizontal grid and the second, the High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR), generates data down to a 3-km (2-mile) resolution grid for smaller regions of interest. RAP forecasts are generated every hour with forecast lengths going out 18 hours with a 1 hour temporal resolution.

Strongest Tropical cyclones: 1980-2009: A 30-year collage of Hurricane Satellite (HURSAT) data
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Strongest Tropical Cyclones: 1980-2009 poster - a 30-year collage of Hurricane Satellite (HURSAT) data. This poster depicts a series of 5 degree grids where within each grid is a false color image of the strongest tropical cyclone captured by satellites during the period 1980 to 2009. The poster size is 48"x 30".
