From fall 2021 through summer 2023, NOAA and research partners conducted a field study (SPLASH - the Study of Precipitation, the Lower Atmosphere and Surface for Hydrometeorology). This field study established a state-of-the-art observing network in the East River watershed of the Colorado mountains with a goal of advancing weather and water prediction capabilities in areas with complex terrain. The ultimate goal of this project is improved prediction of weather and water in the Colorado mountains and beyond to inform societal preparedness and response.

Near-shore estuarine and coastal regions are where most recreational fishing and tourism occur, yet they are vastly under-sampled. Their susceptibility to OA is not well understood due to their high biogeochemical variability.

Alaska Region National Marine Fisheries Service and the North Pacific Management Council describe and identify essential fish habitat (EFH) in fishery management plans (FMPs), minimize to the extent practicable the adverse effects of fishing and non-fishing activities on EFH, and identify other actions to encourage the conservation and enhancement of EFH, as required by the EFH provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act.

This dataset includes continuous sea surface measurements of pCO2, temperature, salinity and atmospheric pressure data during the R/V Marion Dufresne OISO-32 cruise (EXPOCODE 35MV20220210) in Indian Ocean from 2023-01-23 to 2023-02-22. The OISO program (Océan Indien Service d'Observations), initiated in 1998, collects measurements of pCO2 and associated parameters (T, S, DIC, TALK, nutrients, Chl-a, 13C) along the repeated lines of R.V. Marion-Dufresne in the South-Western Indian and Southern Oceans; this coverage is a complement of the international CO2 observing system (IOCCP).

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and others sea and atmospheric parameters taken by CTD and other instrumentation from the training ship Oshoro Maru in the Chukchi Sea, Bering Sea, and North Pacific Ocean. This cruise aims to understand hydrographic and ecosystem changes taking place in the northern Bering and Chukchi Seas. We conducted hydrographic, biogeochemical and ecosystem surveys, including plankton, microplastic, and fish samplings, from the northern Bering Sea to the Chukchi Sea. This dataset includes continuous sea surface measurements of pCO2, temperature, salinity and atmospheric pressure data during the R/V Marion Dufresne EBO-2022 cruise (EXPOCODE 35MV20220627) in the Indian Ocean from 2022-06-27 to 2022-07-06. The EBO-2022 cruise (Ecole Bleue Outremer) was conducted onboard R.V. Marion-Dufresne in the Western Indian Ocean. The cruise aimed at training young people based overseas.

This dataset includes surface underway, chemical, meteorological and physical data collected from M/S New Century 2 in the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean from 2023-01-08 to 2023-11-11. These data include absolute humidity, air temperature, air-sea difference - partial pressure of carbon dioxide, barometric pressure, partial pressure of carbon dioxide - atmosphere, partial pressure of carbon dioxide - water, relative humidity, sea surface salinity, sea surface temperature and wind direction and speed.
