GHRSST L2P NOAA/ACSPO Himawari-09 AHI Pacific Ocean Region Sea Surface Temperature v2.90 dataset (GDS version 2) for 2024-01-16 (NCEI Accession 0289051)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The H09-AHI-L2P-ACSPO-v2.90 dataset contains the Subskin Sea Surface Temperature (SST) produced by the NOAA ACSPO system from the Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI; largely identical to GOES-R/ABI) onboard the Himawari-9 (H09) satellite. The H09 is a Japanese weather satellite, the 9th of the Himawari geostationary weather satellite operated by the Japan Meteorological Agency. It was launched on November 2, 2016 into its nominal position at 140.7-deg E, and declared operational on December 13, 2022, replacing the Himawari-8.

SPLASH Field Study; Snow-level Radar FMCW Moments at Kettle Ponds, Colorado, 2021-09-29 to 2023-09-06 (NCEI Accession 0289123)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
From fall 2021 through summer 2023, NOAA and research partners conducted a field study (SPLASH - the Study of Precipitation, the Lower Atmosphere and Surface for Hydrometeorology). This field study established a state-of-the-art observing network in the East River watershed of the Colorado mountains with a goal of advancing weather and water prediction capabilities in areas with complex terrain. The ultimate goal of this project is improved prediction of weather and water in the Colorado mountains and beyond to inform societal preparedness and response.

Water temperature, salinity, and other parameters collected by CTD from the research vessel Marcus G. Langseth in the north Pacific Ocean off California from 2022-10-25 to 2022-10-28 (NCEI Accession 0289345)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Cruise MGL2212 by research vessel Marcus G. Langseth in October 2022 had the objective to service moorings for the CCE and CORC projects (California Current Ecosystem, Consortium on the Ocean's Role in Climate). To calibrate and validate the mooring data, CTD casts with water samples were collected. The CTD data are reported here. The CTD data have been quality-controlled and adjusted using the water sample data. Additional cruise data files are available through the Rolling Deck to Repository program (R2R, see 'references'). Processed data are in NetCDF and CNV formats.

Microplastic concentrations in water, sediments and beaches from the Tarragona coast, western Mediterranean collected during 2018-10-09 (NCEI Accession 0289355)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This study estimated the concentration of microplastics (i.e. plastics measuring less than 5mm; reported in unit of items/m3 for water samples and items/kg d.w. for marine sediment and beach sand samples) in water, sediments and beach sand from the Tarragona coast, western Mediterranean collected during 2018-10-09. Microplastics suspended in water were collected with Neuston net, those in marine sediments were collected using a metal spoon while those in beach sand were collected using a Kubiena box.
