Coastal Mapping Program of Intracoastal Waterway, Ono Island to Destin, AL-FL, FL1914B-TB-C
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
These data provide an accurate high-resolution shoreline compiled from imagery of Intracoastal Waterway, Ono Island to Destin, AL-FL . This vector shoreline data is based on an office interpretation of imagery that may be suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. This metadata describes information for both the line and point shapefiles. The NGS attribution scheme 'Coastal Cartographic Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST)' was developed to conform the attribution of various sources of shoreline data into one attribution catalog.

NRF FT-NIR Ageing, 2013-2019, Benson et al 2024
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data set was used to explore advanced technologies using Fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy coupled with machine learning to estimate fish age more rapidly and with greater efficiency than traditional approaches. The data set integrates two key data modalities that are related to fish ages: the entire range of wavenumbers of FT-NIR spectra and corresponding biological and geospatial data for a total of 2613 northern rockfish (Sebastes polyspinis) specimens.

Cetacean visual observations using line-transect survey methods onboard the NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter (GU) in the Gulf of Mexico (survey GU0302) from 2003-06-14 to 2003-08-17. (NCEI Accession 0294561)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is required to prepare an annual Stock Assessment Report (SAR) for each marine mammal stock to update abundance, stock structure, maximum net productivity, human-caused mortality, potential biological removal (PBR), and status. In the summer of 2003, the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) conducted a marine mammal survey in the northern Gulf of Mexico (GMx). Operations occurred in the waters from 200 m deep seaward to the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) from Brownsville, Texas east into the Straits of Florida.

AIS Vessel Transit Counts 2023
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) are a navigation safety device that transmits and monitors the location and characteristics of many vessels in U.S. and international waters in real-time. In the U.S. the Coast Guard and industry collect AIS data, which can also be used for a variety of coastal planning purposes. NOAA and BOEM have worked jointly to re-task and make available some of the most important records from the U.S. Coast Guard's national network of AIS receivers. This dataset represents annual vessel transit counts summarized at a 100 m by 100 m geographic area.
