NOAA Climate Data Record (CDR) of the Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) Monthly Version 3.3

The Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) consists of monthly satellite-gauge and associated precipitation error estimates and covers the period January 1983 to the present. For GPCP V3 monthly precipitation, the primary outputs include combined satellite-gauge precipitation rate, combined satellite-gauge precipitation random error, multi-satellite precipitation, wind-loss adjusted gauge precipitation, and probability of liquid phase, among others. The product is archived on a 0.5-degree global grid.

NOAA Climate Data Record (CDR) of the Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) Daily Version 3.3

The GPCP Daily analysis is a companion to the GPCP Monthly analysis, and provides globally complete precipitation estimates at a spatial resolution of a half degree latitude-longitude and daily time scale from 1998 to the present. Although derived using both some of the same, but also different, data sets and methods than used in the GPCP Monthly analysis, the GPCP Daily "adds up" to the GPCP Monthly. The GPCP Daily V3.3 analysis is currently computed by the University of Maryland and submitted to NCEI.

Sampling Operations Database Application (SODA) used on NOAA Ship OKEANOS EXPLORER from 2015-08-02 to 2025-04-30 (NCEI Accession 0311845)

The information collected in the Okeanos Explorer (EX) Sampling Operations Database Application (SODA) was customized for the sampling operation protocols developed prior to the launch of the Campaign to Address Pacific Monument Science, Technology, and Ocean NEeds (CAPSTONE) expedition in FY15. SODA is an NCEI-developed, Microsoft Access-based, sampling tool created specifically for the EX to accompany new samples being collected. SODA is used to input and manage data about samples collected during each dive with the ROV Deep Discoverer.

This dataset includes surface underway data collected from R/V Sikuliaq Expeditions in the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Beaufort Sea, Arctic Ocean from 2025-02-03 to 2026-01-06. These data include partial pressure carbon dioxide (pCO2) - air, partial pressure carbon dioxide (pCO2) - water, sea surface salinity, sea surface temperature and barometric pressure. The instruments used to collect these data include Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer and shower head chamber equilibrator for autonomous carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement.

Loggerhead Sea turtle (Caretta caretta) surface availability in the Northwest Atlantic from 2009 to 2018 (NCEI Accession 0312000)

Information from animal-borne data loggers was used to characterize the dive‐surfacing behavior of cryptic loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) in the northwest Atlantic from 2009-2018. Our data covered a large geographic area off the east coast of North America, and allowed us to present estimates for and variation in 3 metrics that can be used to assess availability bias affecting visual surveys: average dive duration, average surface duration, and the proportion of time at the surface.

NCCOS Mapping: Collaborative Benthic Habitat Mapping in the Nearshore Waters of the Great Lakes Basin – Collection locations of GL-25-02 cruise benthic imagery and sediment samples in Lake Superior, offshore of Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin 2025-07-14 to 2025-08-01 (NCEI Accession 0312024)

This dataset includes collection locations associated with sites sampled within the nearshore waters of Duluth, Wisconsin in Lake Superior. Site information data was collected by a series of sampling platforms including, a Drop Camera, a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), an Autonomous Operated Vehicle (AUV) and a Ponar sediment sampler. The benthic imagery was collected in 2025 in Lake Superior to characterize the lakebed and provide ground-truthing observation data for predictive substrate and biological community models.
