Northwest Atlantic Regional Climatology version 2 (NCEI Accession 0242042)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Northwest Atlantic (NWA) is a resource rich coastal zone with abundant fisheries and other material resources. The region includes The Gulf Stream and North Atlantic Current System, key features that facilitate northward heat transport and Meridional Overturning Circulation in the Atlantic Ocean. The NWA Regional Climatology version 2 replaces the previous version of the NWA RC published in 2016. The updated high-resolution temperature and salinity climatologies allow researches to assess decadal ocean climate change more precisely in the critically important NWA region.

Fish presence and stream habitat data from Southeast Alaska from 2017-05-09 to 2020-10-13 (NCEI Accession 0242074)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This archive information package contains fish presence and stream habitat data collected in southeast Alaska, between May 2017 and October 2020 to identify anadromous fish stream habitat. During this time the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Habitat Section staff completed 1,051 stream surveys in remote and urban areas, using backpack electrofisher, fish traps, clinometers, tape measures, and rangefinder/hypsometer. Data collected include fish species presence, notable fish habitat features, substrate characteristics, fish barriers, and other additional notes.

Hydrostatic pressure, temperature, conductivity, and salinity profiles collected from R/V Tommy Munro (TM16-05) in the Gulf of Mexico from 2016-05-18 to 2016-05-19 (NCEI Accession 0242338)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Eight conductivity, temperature and depth (CTD) casts made from the R/V Tommy Munro (TM:16-05) in the northern Gulf of Mexico, 2016-05-18 - 2016-05-19, in lease block GC248. The purpose of the cruise was to determine the hydrography in the area of GC248 in response to the Brutus rig discharge of approximately 88,000 gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico (2016-05-12). Data include profiles of pressure, temperature, conductivity, and salinity obtained with a SeaBird SBE19+ Seacat.

NOAA RESTORE Science Program: Ecosystem modeling to improve fisheries management in the Gulf of Mexico: model inputs and outputs for the West Florida Shelf, 1985-01-01 to 2018-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0242339)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset is a collection of files containing the necessary inputs to and relevant outputs from the West Florida Shelf ecosystem model used to estimate mortality rates on valuable reef fish species, and ecosystem indicators to estimate red tide mortality rates events. The model was developed using the Ecopath with Ecosim and Ecospace modeling software package. The spatial extent of the model is 25° to 30.5° N and 81° to 87.5° W and simulations were run in hindcast from 1985 to 2018 at a monthly timestep.

Species-specific patterns of Brown chromis fecal pellet consumption (coprophagy) by parrotfishes and surgeonfishes and fecal pellet nutritional composition in Bonaire from 2019-06-27 to 2019-09-11 (NCEI Accession 0242462)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

In this study, we investigated the species-specific foraging rates of parrotfishes (tribe Scarini within the Labridae) and surgeonfishes (Acanthuridae) on Brown Chromis (Chromis multilineata) fecal pellets compared to other major dietary items and the nutritional value of these fecal pellets. We conducted this study on the Caribbean island of Bonaire in summer of 2019.
