Modeled ocean acidification data in the Gulf of Mexico and wider Caribbean using satellites and climate model data for the Ocean Acidification Products for the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast project from 2014-01-01 to 2020-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0245950)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Scientists of the ACCRETE (Acidification, Climate, and Coral Reef Ecosystems Team) Lab of AOML’s Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division (OCED) constructed a tool to monitor ocean acidification over the wider Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. This tool utilizes satellite data and a data-assimilative hybrid model to map the components of the carbonate system of surface water. The variables provided in this dataset include partial pressure of carbon dioxide for seawater (pCO2sw), total alkalinity (TA), pH, aragonite saturation state, and calcite saturation state.

Biological effects of ocean acidification on juvenile Atlantic surfclams (Spisula solidissima) observed in laboratory experiments from 2019-04-10 to 2019-07-03 (NCEI Accession 0245952)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains laboratory experimental data that were collected to examine the effects of elevated levels of carbon dioxide on the growth of Atlantic surfclam (Spisula solidissima), a species that supports both commercial and recreational fisheries in the Northeast United States. Three levels of carbon dioxide enrichment (low, medium, and high) were delivered to surfclams in a 12-week exposure experiment. All treatments were done in 3 replicates (A, B, C).

HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE, SALINITY, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, and PARTICULATE CONCENTRATION AND SIZE DISTRIBUTION PROFILES collected in the Gulf of Mexico from 2015-09-20 to 2015-10-29 (NCEI Accession 0246171)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Fifty-five conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) casts made in mouth of Mobile Bay and its environs, 2015-09-20 to 2015-10-29. The field campaign was part of a long-standing effort to understand the nature of buoyant freshwater plumes in shallow micro-tidal environments. Data include profiles of pressure, temperature, conductivity, salinity, oxygen, pH, beam attentuation, beam transmission, and particulate concentration and size distribution; measurements were obtained with a Seabird SBE25 Sealogger, and a LASER In-Situ Scattering and Transmissometry 100-X (LISST).
