Time series surface total alkalinity, water temperature and salinity measured using an autonomous, automated total alkalinity titrator installed at the University of New Hampshire's Coastal Marine Laboratory (CML) in the Great Bay estuary along the New Hampshire coast from 2016-05 to 2019-11 (NCEI Accession 0245461)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains data measured using an autonomous, automated total alkalinity titrator installed at the University of New Hampshire's Coastal Marine Laboratory (CML). The CML is located at the outlet of the Great Bay estuary along the New Hampshire coast. Hourly data were measured from the lab's continuous seawater supply, located approximately one meter off the bottom. In addition to total alkalinity, salinity and water temperature data are included.

Lab-based evaluation of coral response to thermal stress after ex situ stress hardening assay from 2019-02-06 to 2019-07-15 (NCEI Accession 0245924)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Coral fragments from six presumed genotypes of Acropora cervicornis, originally from three ecoregions on Southeast Florida coral reefs, were collected from a University of Miami field nursery, and exposed to either field control, control, or variable thermal treatment, followed by a heat stress scenario in the University of Miami’s and NOAA Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Lab’s (AOML) Experimental Reef Lab (ERL) to test the capacity for short-term thermal stress hardening to enhance survivorship of coral.

Modeled ocean acidification data in the Gulf of Mexico and wider Caribbean using satellites and climate model data for the Ocean Acidification Products for the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast project from 2014-01-01 to 2020-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0245950)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Scientists of the ACCRETE (Acidification, Climate, and Coral Reef Ecosystems Team) Lab of AOML’s Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division (OCED) constructed a tool to monitor ocean acidification over the wider Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. This tool utilizes satellite data and a data-assimilative hybrid model to map the components of the carbonate system of surface water. The variables provided in this dataset include partial pressure of carbon dioxide for seawater (pCO2sw), total alkalinity (TA), pH, aragonite saturation state, and calcite saturation state.

Biological effects of ocean acidification on juvenile Atlantic surfclams (Spisula solidissima) observed in laboratory experiments from 2019-04-10 to 2019-07-03 (NCEI Accession 0245952)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains laboratory experimental data that were collected to examine the effects of elevated levels of carbon dioxide on the growth of Atlantic surfclam (Spisula solidissima), a species that supports both commercial and recreational fisheries in the Northeast United States. Three levels of carbon dioxide enrichment (low, medium, and high) were delivered to surfclams in a 12-week exposure experiment. All treatments were done in 3 replicates (A, B, C).
