Sea surface temperature (SST) and surface current data collected from the Mar Mostro during the around-the-world Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) from 2011-11-05 to 2012-07-12 (NCEI Accession 0130694)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Navigation, surface current, sea surface temperature, wind, and atmospheric pressure data collected by the Mar Mostro during the around-the-world Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) 2011-2012 (http://www.volvooceanrace.com/en/home.html). The Mar Mostro is a 21.5m sail-powered racing yacht that was manned by the Puma Ocean Racing team (sponsored by the PUMA sports apparel company) and powered by Berg Propulsion of Sweden.

NRDA-processed CTD data from the Sarah Bordelon in the Gulf of Mexico, Cruise 7 Leg 1, collected from 2010-12-04 to 2010-12-19, associated with the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill event (NCEI Accession 0130702)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Conductivity Temperature and Depth (CTD) measurements were collected aboard the M/V Sarah Bordelon, Cruise 07 to determine physical oceanographic parameters of the water column, and in some cases used to help guide sample collection as part of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill sampling effort. Temperature, conductivity/salinity, depth, dissolved oxygen, and fluorometry data were collected onboard the M/V Sarah Bordelon, Cruise 07. The final product is a series of NetCDF files containing every CTD cast that has been processed and quality checked.

Spatial and dietary overlap between red snapper and vermilion snapper (NCEI Accession 0130920)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains abundance data for nine species of reef fish observed at 40 reef sites between Mobile Bay, Alabama and Saint Andrews Bay, Florida, during research cruises in April 2011, August 2011, and April 2012. It also contains gut content analysis data for two of these species - red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus) and vermilion snapper (Rhomboplites aurorubens) - sampled from half of the sites during each cruise.

DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON and TOTAL ALKALINITY collected from NEW HORIZON in Gulf of California and NE Pacific (limit-180) from 2004-07-14 to 2008-08-06 (NCEI Accession 0130921)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC) and Total Alkalinity (TA) samples collected via Niskin bottle and analysed on shore from the Gulf of California in the summers of 2004, 2005, and 2008, as well as from the Eastern Tropical North Pacific in 2008. These data were collected by Fredrick Prahl of OSU and Brian Popp of UHM as part of the Paleo Perspectives on Climate Change and Biological Oceanography projects, and submitted by Matthew Wolowe of OSU.

AFSC/REFM: Isolation by distance (IBD) Alaskan fish stock structure modeling (NCEI Accession 0130929)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This model study examines several management strategies for two marine fish species subject to isolation-by-distance (IBD): Pacific cod in the Aleutian Islands (AI) and northern rockfish in the Eastern Bering Sea (EBS) and Aleutian Islands. A one-dimensional stepping stone model was used to model isolation by distance, and was intended to mimic regions where marine species are exploited along a continental shelf. The performance of spatial assessment and management methods depended on how the range was split.

WATER TEMPERATURE, SALINITY, and HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE collected from R/V Point Sur in Entrance to the Gulf of California from 2013-04-19 to 2013-05-02 (NCEI Accession 0131072)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Hydrographic data were collected in Pescadero Basin (at the entrance to the Gulf of California) and subsequently along the West Coast of Baja California and Southern and Central California on R/V Point Sur from 19 April to 2 May 2013. Objectives of data collection were to measure both the exchange of waters between the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California and the variation of water properties in the California Undercurrent as it transported water along the 1000 m isobaths to the north.
