Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) USA marine biogeographic records collected from 1843-01-01 to 2013-11-22, version as of 2015-01-16 (NCEI Accession 0140482)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset is a dump file from the PostgreSQL database of all of the marine biogeographic records available from the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) USA as of 2015-01-16. NCEI personnel prepared the subsets of the data and metadata records in comma separated value format (csv) easily readable by Excel.

Coral bleaching data from Bleachwatch in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary from 2015-05-31 to 2015-11-03 (NCEI Accession 0140822)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The BleachWatch data form has been designed to minimize the effort required by observers to report on coral condition from throughout the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. BleachWatch observers are requested to provide their contact information, as well as the type of community group that describes them.

Harbor seal demography in Washington; capture, tagging, branding data collected from 1981-04-09 to 2007-11-20 (NCEI Accession 0140930)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The National Marine Mammal Laboratories' California Current Ecosystem Program (AFSC/NOAA) in collaboration with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife captured and sampled Pacific harbor seals (Phoca vitulina) to study the demography of this species in Washington. This database provides capture, recapture, branding and resighting information for harbor seals in Washington from 1981 to 2007. Datasets include: Captures, Recapture, and Resight.

Southeast Alaska cetacean vessel surveys conducted by Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Mammals Laboratory from 1991-04-20 to 2012-07-20 (NCEI Accession 0140931)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
In 1991, NMML initiated cetacean studies with vessel coverage throughout inland waters of Southeast Alaska. Between 1991 and 1993, line-transect methodology was used to: 1) obtain population estimates of both harbor porpoise and Dalls porpoise, 2) establish a baseline for detecting trends in porpoise abundance, and 3) define porpoise distributional patterns and seasonality. Three line-transect surveys were carried out each year spanning spring, summer, and fall.

Descriptions of marine mammal specimens in Marine Mammal Osteology Reference Collection, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Mammal Laboratory from 1938-01-01 to 2015-12-05 (NCEI Accession 0140937)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The NMFS Alaska Fisheries Science Center National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML) Marine Mammal Osteology Collection consists of approximately 2500 specimens (skulls and post-cranial skeletons) from 43 species of marine mammals from around the world. Specimens have been collected for life history studies over the past 60 years on projects ranging from pelagic sealing in the 1950s, to collections of marine mammals taken incidentally in commercial fisheries, and those found dead on beaches and rookeries from Alaska to the Antarctic.

Synoptic monthly gridded three dimensional (3D) World Ocean Database temperature and salinity from January 1945 to December 2014 (NCEI Accession 0140938)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The synoptic gridded WOD (SG-WOD) provides 3D world ocean gridded temperature and salinity data in monthly increment from WOD profiles using the Optimal Spectral Decomposition (OSD). The SG-WOD data has the same spatial resolution as WOA2009 (T, S) fields.

In-situ water current velocity measurements collected from moored current meters in the Agulhas Current region of the Indian Ocean from 2010-04-08 to 2013-02-23 (NCEI Accession 0140939)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data package is comprised of two sets of discrete in-situ current velocity measurements from the Agulhas Current Timeseries mooring array, from April 2010 to February 2013. Each netCDF file in the set represents a single instrument's complete record of east and north velocity components, as well as instrument depth, with respect to time. The records have been edited to remove samples stored during the deployment and recovery periods, and have been corrected for magnetic declination and local sound velocity.

The National Marine Mammal's California Current Ecosystem Program and Cascadia Research Collective: Aerial and small boat line transect surveys conducted in waters of Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, Canada from 1989-07-13 to 2003-08-29 (NCEI Accession 0141100)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML), a division of NOAA's Alaska Fisheries Science Center (Seattle, WA) and Cascadia Research Collective (Olympia, WA), conducted aerial and small boat line transects to estimate the abundance of harbor porpoises in waters of Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, Canada. This dataset contains line transect survey data with effort (line length) and sighting data (species, group size, distance/angle) and associated covariate data.
