Vertical water temperature data were collected at multiple depths on a single mooring in the central basin of Lake Huron from October 2012 through June 2019. Vertical temperatures were collected hourly at 15 to 21 depths over the period of record; maximum depth of this mooring location was 220 m. Two brands of thermistors have been used over the years including R. Brancker Duo and Seabird 56, both have a temperature accuracy of ±0.02 °C.

Data on water level (stage), turbidity (T), and suspended sediment concentration (SSC) were collected in the Fagaʻalu watershed in American Samoa from 2012-2016. Stage data were combined with a rating curve to calculate discharge (Q, m3/s). Monitoring sites included a forested site (F1: stage, T, SSC), a site downstream of a quarry (F2: T, SSC), and a site upstream of the discharge point to the ocean (F3: stage, T, SSC). Grab samples of water for SSC were collected at F1, F2, F3, and some supplemental sites. See Messina and Biggs (2016) and Holst-Rice et al (2016) for details.

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and sound speed collected/calculated for the OPR-J317-KR-18 project under contract with NOAA. Sea Bird Electronics SBE19 and SBE19plus CTD sensor measurements of depth, temperature, and conductivity were used for speed of sound calculations through the water column. CTD casts were conducted at least once daily on board the research vessel Sea Scout and more often as needed Data are in ASCII (CNV) format.

Water velocity data (m/s) was measured by an acoustic Doppler velocimeter within a tidal creek at approximately 0.55m above the channel bottom. Measurements were made in 5-minute bursts every 15 minutes at 64Hz. Water velocity components (UVW) were measured in an XYZ coordinate system where X is the along-channel direction, Y is the across-channel direction and the Z is the vertical direction. X is positive oriented inland. Dissolved oxygen-DO (% Saturation): DO was measured on 5-minute intervals to agree temporally with the velocity data.
