This project is a partnership between Rutgers and Korean Institute of Ocean Science and Technology focused on deploying Slocum underwater gliders to sample the stratified Korean coastal waters ahead of and during Typhoons. The goal is to evaluate and improve regional and global ocean modeling systems. The glider will be deployed for approximately 1 week and travel from Jeju Island South Korea to the south west toward the Ieodo Research Station.

Glider deployed on the RU-COOL Endurance Line to characterize seasonal physical and biological processes in the Mid-Atlantic Bight shelf waters. These deployments provided a continuation of shelf process observations that began with ship surveys performed by RU-COOL and partners that began in the late 1990s. This is a high-resolution data set containing CTD and downwelling irradiance profiles.

Slocum glider ru23 was deployed prior to the movement of
Hurrican Sandy into the Mid-Atlantic Bight and was deployed to
sample the sub-surface waters during the passage and landfall of
Hurricane Sandy. The glider provided real-time physical and
bio-optical measurements of the sub-surface waters near the apex
of Mid-Atlantic Bight. This dataset contains only physical
oceanographic measurements including temperature, salinity and
desnity.
