Earth System Research Laboratory Ozone Water Vapor Group Water Vapor Flight Measurements

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Ozone and Water Vapor Group is part of NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) in Boulder, CO. The Ozone Water Vapor Group conducts research on the nature and causes of the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer and the role of stratospheric and tropospheric ozone and water vapor in forcing climate change and in modifying the chemical cleaning capacity of the atmosphere. This is accomplished through long-term observations and intensive field programs that measure ozone and water vapor levels in the upper troposphere and stratosphere.

NOAA GOES-R Series Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) Level 0 Data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This data collection consists of archived Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R (GOES-R) Series Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) Level 0 data from the GOES-East and GOES-West satellites in the operational (OPS) and the post-launch test (PLT) phases. The GOES-R Series provides continuity of the GOES mission through 2035 and improvements in geostationary satellite observational data. GOES-16, the first GOES-R satellite, began operating as GOES-East on December 18, 2017. GOES-17 began operating as GOES-West on February 12, 2019.

Automatic Identification System (AIS) in US Offshore Waters Vessel Traffic Data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Vessel traffic data or Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) are a navigation safety device that transmits and monitors the location and characteristics of many vessels in U.S. and international waters in real-time. In the U.S. the Coast Guard and industry collect AIS data, which can also be used for a variety of coastal management purposes. NOAA and BOEM have worked jointly to make available these data from the U.S. Coast Guards national network of AIS receivers.

International Comprehensive Ocean Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) R3.0 in Near-Real-Time (NRT)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) Near-Real-Time (NRT) product is an extension of the official ICOADS data set based on preliminary Global Telecommunication System (GTS) data. The data are considered 'preliminary' until fully incorporated into a full major ICOADS data set release. The NRT data set is a merged product of various marine GTS data sources providing surface marine in situ observations from different observing platforms.

Commercial (Comm) Radio Occultation (RO) Raw Data Record (RDR) from PlanetiQ

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This dataset contains Commercial (Comm) Radio Occultation (RO) Raw Data Records (RDR) from PlanetiQ. It is from Radio Occultation Data Buy II (RODB-2) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), dated March 27, 2023 to March 26, 2028. For RODB-2 IDIQ, NOAA solicited commercial near-real-time satellite-based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Radio Occultation (RO) and ionospheric measurements that will be processed into neutral atmosphere and space weather products.

NOAA/NCEI Blended Global Sea Surface Winds, Version 2

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The NBSv2.0 dataset synthesizes observations from multiple satellites (up to 16 satellites since 1987) to create globally gridded, high-resolution 10 m neutral ocean wind speeds and wind stress components. The wind directions come from two sources depending on the products: for the research delayed mode product, the source is the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts ERA5 and for the near-real-time products, the source is the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) GFS.

NOAA Global Surface Temperature Dataset (NOAAGlobalTemp), Version 6.0

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The NOAA Global Surface Temperature Dataset (NOAAGlobalTemp) is a monthly global merged land-ocean surface temperature analysis product that is derived from two independent analyses. The first is the Extended Reconstructed Sea Surface Temperature (ERSST) analysis and the second is a land surface air temperature (LSAT) analysis that uses the Global Historical Climatology Network - Monthly (GHCN-M) temperature database. The NOAAGlobalTemp data set contains global surface temperatures in gridded (5° × 5°) and monthly resolution time series (from 1850 to present time) data files.

NOAA Climate Data Record (CDR) of VIIRS Leaf Area Index (LAI) and Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR), Version 1

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This Climate Data Record (CDR) combines datasets for Leaf Area Index (LAI) and Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR), two biophysical variables that can be used to evaluate vegetation stress, forecast agricultural yields, and other modeling and resource management applications. LAI tracks the one-sided green leaf area per unit of ground surface area, while FAPAR quantifies the solar radiation absorbed by plants within the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) spectral region.
