Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) Reprocessed Level-0 Data

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Lockheed Martin has updated six years of GOES-16 and GOES-17 data from the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM), enhancing the accessibility of this crucial information. Previously, the GLM Level-0 (L0) data stored in the Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS) at the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) was in a format difficult for users to work with, limiting its potential benefits.

Regional Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Emissions (RAVE)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Regional hourly Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Emissions (RAVE) algorithm operationally generates biomass burning (fire) emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), total particulate matter (TPM), sulfur dioxide (SO2), organic carbon (OC), black carbon (BC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), ammonia (NH3 ), methane (CH4) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for every hour each day.

Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) Monthly Precipitation, Version 4

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) Monthly Precipitation, Version 4 is a collection of worldwide monthly precipitation values with measurement, quality control, and source flags for global locations. Values are in tenths of a millimeter and coverage is mostly global land masses with voids as expected in less populated areas. It offers significant enhancements over the previous version 2. It contains more values both historically and for the most recent months. Its methods for merging records and quality control have been modernized.

Infrared (IR) Sounder Atmospheric Temperature and Humidity Profiles, Version 5

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This long-term satellite data record contains observations of atmospheric temperature and humidity at multiple pressure levels. The data set is produced primarily using input from infrared radiation (IR) sounder instruments such as the High-Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS). Current data holdings span from1981-07-08 to 2021-12-31 with data derived from HIRS instruments onboard the NOAA and MetOp polar-orbiting satellite series. Future data holdings are planned to include data derived from other IR sensors such as CrIS and IASI.

Bering Sea and Slope Dropcam Survey of Deep Sea Corals and Sponges for 2014

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Bering Sea and Slope Dropcam Survey of Deep Sea Corals and Sponges for 2014 dataset includes approximately 2160 GB of image files from the 2014 underwater camera surveys of the Bering Sea continental shelf and slope conducted by NOAA AFSC of deep-sea coral and sponge grounds. Images were collected across two hundred fifty transects and were successfully completed in an area which extended from the Bering Canyon Island to Pervenets Canyon in the north on the continental slope and shelf.

Regional Hydrodynamic Model Outputs of the NOAA Salish Sea and Columbia River Operational Forecast System (SSCOFS)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

NOAA's National Ocean Service (NOS) has developed a Salish Sea and Columbia River Operational Forecast System (SSCOFS). The SSCOFS runs on NOAA's Weather and Climate Operational Supercomputing System (WCOSS) in a Coastal Ocean Modeling Framework developed by CO-OPS. As a result, the SSCOFS has direct access to NWS operational meteorological products that it needs to run reliably. Nowcast and forecast guidance cycles are run 4 times a day (every 6 hours).

NOAA/NSIDC Climate Data Record of Passive Microwave Sea Ice Concentration, Version 5

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This data set provides a Climate Data Record (CDR) of sea ice concentration from passive microwave data at a 25 km resolution beginning in late October 1978. It is generated using daily gridded brightness temperatures from the GCOM-W Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer - 2 (AMSR2), the Aqua AMSR-E sensor, the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) series of Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder (SSMIS) and Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I) passive microwave radiometers onboard F-17, F-13, F-11, and F-8, and the Nimbus Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR).

Atmospheric Rivers, Version 1

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The Atmospheric Rivers, Version 1 (AR V1) is a historical record of ARs and related fields based on the ERA5 Reanalysis. The data is regional in coverage (Western U.S.), high resolution in both space (~31 km) and time (6 h), and covers a long period of record (1940-present). It uses the AR scale to broadly characterizes the strength of ARs using categorical rankings from 1-5 based on the peak integrated water vapor transport (IVT) and duration of AR conditions (i.e., IVT > 250 kg m-1 s-1) at a given location.
