Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Photoquadrat benthic images were collected within the Kahekili Herbivore Fisheries Management Area (KHFMA) in West Maui by the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD; formerly the Coral Reef Ecosystem Division) for quantifying benthic composition.
This dataset is only the imagery from 2021 missions in March and November; the benthic cover data produced is archived separately in NCEI accession 0165015.

Faunal tissue collections (fishes) for DNA barcoding collected by NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service and Tulane University Biodiversity Research Center from NOAA Ship Oregon II, NOAA Ship Pisces and NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico from 2010-02-01 to 2021-07-19 (NCEI Accession 0255350)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Tissue samples for species DNA barcoding and associated whole voucher specimens and their photographs were collected during NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Southeast Fisheries Science Center research vessel bottom and midwater trawl surveys in the Gulf of Mexico from (2010-02-01 to 2021-07-19). This dataset represents the tissue samples and voucher specimens archived at the Tulane University Biodiversity Research Center (TUBRI), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Tissue samples and associated photographs were collected both during field studies and post-survey in the laboratory.

Eastward and northward components of ocean current, water temperature, and others collected from moorings in North East Pacific Coast from 1990-10-09 to 1991-02-26 (NCEI Accession 0164862)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Dynamics of the Columbia River Plume Project was sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant number OCE 8918193 to Barbara Hickey, Lead Principal Investigator (University of Washington). Other PIs included on the project were Bill Boicourt (University of Maryland), David Jay (University of Washington), and Len Pietrafesa (North Carolina State University). Twenty-two current meter arrays (14 surface and 8 subsurface moorings) were deployed in the vicinity of the mouth of the Columbia River from Oct. 1990 through Feb. 1991.

Eastward and northward components of ocean current, temperature, salinity and ice analysis collected from industry sponsored moorings in the Chukchi Sea, Alaska from 2008-09-08 to 2016-10-13 (NCEI Accession 0164964)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Thirteen moorings sites throughout the northeastern Chukchi Sea shelf were occupied in various combinations for eight field years, 2008-2016. Two separate taut line moorings were deployed at most sites. The primary mooring employed at all sites deployed a Teledyne RDI Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) to measure water and sea ice velocities. Except at the locations over Hanna Shoals, 2011-2012, a second mooring deployed an Ice Profiling Sonar (IPS) instrument, manufactured by ASL Environmental Sciences Inc.

Water temperature, salinity, and other data from CTD taken from the RV Sikuliaq in the Pacific Ocean between San Diego, California and Manzanillo, Mexico from 2016-12-21 to 2017-01-13 (NCEI Accession 0164968)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This report contains data from R/V Sikuliaq cruise SKQ201617S to the eastern tropical north pacific oxygen deficient zone. The objective of the cruise was to study denitrification and anammox processes. The cruise took place between December 2016 and January 2017 in an area bounded by 25N-14N and 112W-104W. Two data sets are included. The first is the 1-meter binned CTD data while the second is the bottle cast data and contains nutrient values for nitrate, nitrite, silicate, phosphate and ammonium.

Fish, Benthic and Urchin Survey Data from Kahekili Herbivore Fisheries Management Area (HFMA), Maui, Hawaii since 2008 (NCEI Accession 0165015)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Data are summary fish, benthic and urchin data from belt transect surveys conducted by the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD; formerly the Coral Reef Ecosystem Division) within the Kahekili Herbivore Fisheries Management Area (KHFMA) in West Maui. Surveys were completed in 'rounds', each round being an intensive 4 day survey effort (occasionally with an additional day soon after) from 2009 to 2024.

Benthic Surveys in Vatia, American Samoa: comprehensive assessment of coral demography (adult and juvenile corals) from belt transect surveys between 2015-11-02 and 2015-11-12 (NCEI Accession 0165016)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Jurisdictional managers have expressed concerns that nutrients from the village of Vatia, Tutuila, American Samoa, are having an adverse effect on the adjacent coral reef ecosystem. Excess nutrient loads promote increases in algal growth that can have deleterious effects on corals, such as benthic algae outcompeting and overgrowing corals. Nitrogen and phosphorus can also directly impact corals by lowering fertilization success, and reducing both photosynthesis and calcification rates.

Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains oceanographic data collected in and around the Johnston Atoll Unit (JAU) of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, the U.S. EEZ around Hawaii, and the high seas during transit to and from JAU. Operations included the use of the ship’s Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP), Scientific Computer System (SCS) data acquisition system designed for oceanographic and fisheries applications, and the ship’s high-bandwidth satellite connection for continuous real-time ship-to-shore communications.
