Stacked species distribution models of deep-sea corals and sponges off the United States west coast (NCEI Accession 0303081)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
These data are a set of raster maps of community-level predictions of deep-sea coral and sponge taxa distributions off the continental U.S. west coast, spanning depths from 50 to 1200 m. The raster files come in two versions: one where predicted distribution suitability range from 0 - 1 and one where the predicted suitability is classified into five classes; very low (0–0.2), low (0.21–0.40), moderate (0.41–0.60), high (0.61–0.80) and very high (0.81–1.00).

Discrete bottle samples of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total Alkalinity (TA), pH on total scale and salinity, made at two locations near Chesapeake Biological Laboratory from 2021-06-23 to 2021-07-06 (NCEI Accession 0303110)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains the discrete bottle data collected at two locations in the vicinity of an oyster aquaculture facility at the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons, MD. The sampling was made by hand at these ~1 m deep stations between June 23 and July 6, 2021. This effort was conducted in support of the research project entitled "Thresholds 2018: Identifying thresholds in coupled biogeochemical-biological-economic systems under multiple stressors" that was supported by the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program (OAP).

Study on spawning ecology of skipjack, yellowfin, and bigeye tuna from R/V Shunyo Maru, cruise SHU1505, from 2015-11-06 to 2015-12-21 in Norther Mariana (NCEI Accession 0303130)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Skipjack and other tropical tuna (yellowfin and bigeye tuna) has been one of the most important fishery resources in the WCPFC area. The objectives of this research are (1) to describe spatial distributions of juvenile skipjack and tropical tunas (yellowfin and bigeye tuna) and (2) to understand spawning ecology of these species. It is necessary to perform biological sampling and hydrographic observation in the North Equatorial Current and the adjacent waters including the EEZ of the Northern Mariana and the Republic of Palau.

NCCOS Assessment: Effects of amoxicillin exposure on the early life stages of sea urchins, oysters, and corals in 2021 to 2022 (NCEI Accession 0303131)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
In FY2022 (June 2021- September 2022), we conducted six experiments to determine the effect of amoxicillin exposure on marine invertebrates: one on the development of sea urchin (Lytechinus variegatus) embryos after 48 hours of exposure, one on the development of oyster (Crassostrea virginica) embryos after 48 hours of exposure, three on the survival of coral larvae after 48 hours of exposure (Acropora cervicornis, Acropora palmata, and Orbicella faveolata), and one on the settlement behavior of coral larvae (Acropora cervicornis) after 9 days of exposure.

NCCOS Assessment: Effects of three pesticides on the survival and settlement behavior of Caribbean coral larvae (NCEI Accession 0303148)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This project investigates the lethal and sublethal effects of three pesticides (Thiamethomoxamine, Dinotefuran, and Acetamiprid) on the survival of the corals Arcropora cervicornis and Orbicella faveolata larvae after 48 hours of exposure and on the settlement behavior of Acropora cervicornis larvae after 7 days of exposure.

Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH on total scale, nutrients, water temperature, salinity and other variables collected from profile and discrete samples observations during the NOAA Ship Pisces cruise PC2305 (EXPOCODE 334B20231027) in the New York Bight, Northeast U.S. Shelf, North Atlantic Ocean from 2023-10-27 to 2023-11-13 (NCEI Accession 0303262)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data set consists of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH on total scale, nutrients, water temperature, salinity and other variables collected from profile and discrete samples observations during the NOAA Ship Pisces cruise PC2305 (EXPOCODE 334B20231027) in the New York Bight, Northeast U.S. Shelf, North Atlantic Ocean from 2023-10-27 to 2023-11-13. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry ultimately resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification.

NCCOS Mapping: Geospatial products of water depth and acoustic backscatter collected by NOAA Ship Nancy Foster in Carolina Long Bay from 2024-06-12 to 2024-06-18 (NCEI Accession 0303334)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data collected by NOAA Ship Nancy Foster from 2024-06-12 to 2024-06-18. These data were collected using a Kongsberg EM2040 multibeam echosounder (MBES). Bathymetry grids were created using Qimera; depths are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Backscatter mosaics were created using Fledermaus Geocoder Toolbox (FMGT). Survey depths range from 25 to 33 meters. Processed grids are available at 0.5 and 1m resolution.

NCCOS Mapping: Geospatial products of water depth, acoustic backscatter, and ROV data collected from NOAA Ship Nancy Foster in the US Caribbean off the coast of St. Thomas, USVI from 2023-05-01 to 2023-05-10 (NCEI Accession 0303335)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Multibeam and acoustic backscatter data collected from NOAA Ship Nancy Foster from 2023-05- 01 to 2023-05-10. The majority of these data were collected using a Kongsberg EM2040.
Bathymetry grids were created using Qimera, and corrected to Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW). Backscatter mosaics were created using Fledermaus Geocoder Toolbox (FMGT). Data were acquired and processed to meet IHO Order 1 specifications. Survey depths vary from 33m to 58m. Processed data are available at 2m resolution.
