Near-realtime oceanographic profile data collected by Floats from 20100524 to 20101206 as part of the GTSPP in response to the 20100420 Deepwater Horizon oil spill event (NCEI Accession 0065725)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Data products and in situ oceanographic data collected in response to the Deepwater Horizon Event in the Gulf of Mexico (May 2010). The Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Programme (GTSPP) received the near-realtime data as TESAC messages for these Floats from the Global Telecommunication System (GTS). The data are available in three formats, CSV (comma separated value), NetCDF (network common data form) and the GTSPP ASCII formats. An inventory file is available, including plots of each vertical profile. A .kml file is available for Google Earth display.

Physical profile data from CTD casts from the RV Medeia in the coastal waters of Southeast Alaska in support of the SE Alaska Red King Crab Survey from 09 June 2010 to 21 July 2010 (NCEI Accession 0066061)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game conducts annual shellfish surveys that include Red King Crab, Tanner Crab, and Shrimp which is used to manage the personal commercial fisheries. Lack of oceanographic data in Northern Southeast Alaska spurred interest in helping create an oceanographic database by collecting CTD in our current survey locations. The CTD data include conductivity(S/m), depth(m), pressure (db), oxygen saturation (ml/l), salinity (PSU), and Temperature (Celsius).

Benthic data for corals, macroalgae, invertebrates, and non-living bottom types from Fagatele Bay, Pago Pago, and Fagasa, American Samoa, 2004-2008 (NCEI Accession 0066319)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data set was derived from surveys in Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Pago Pago (Rainmaker and Aua), and Fagasa (Sita Bay and Cape Larsen) conducted in 2004 and 2007-2008. Parameters include coral, algal, or invertebrate species, coral colony diameter size, and non-living bottom type.
Summaries of species identification from sites above and Ofu-Olosega Islands, Ta'u Island, Aunu'u, Manu'a, and Rose Atoll, based on historic surveys back to 1917 are also given in spreadsheets. This is a working list put together by Dr. Charles Birkeland.

NODC Standard Format Current Meter (Components) (F015) Data (1962-1992) (NCEI Accession 0066358)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This data set contains time series measurements of ocean currents. These data are obtained from current meter moorings and represent the Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed point and measure flow past a sensor. Position, bottom depth, sensor depth and meter characteristics are reported for each station. The data record includes values of east-west (u) and north-south (v) current vector components at specified date and time. Current direction is defined as the direction toward which the water is flowing with positive directions east and north.

Temperature, salinity, nutrients, freons, oxygen, currents (ADCP), underway and other measurements collected in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic as part of the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon Cruise (GOMECC) 2007 (NCEI Accession 0066603)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
GOMECC Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon Cruise (RB 07-05). North American Carbon Program (NACP) Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon (GOMECC) Cruise on board NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from Galveston in the northern Gulf of Mexico to Boston on the East coast. The cruise was designed to obtain a snapshot of concentrations and fluxes of key carbon, physical, and biogeochemical parameters in the coastal realm. The program is in support of the North American Carbon Program (NACP) that has as overriding goal to constrain fluxes of carbon over North America and adjacent seas.

Temperature, salinity and currents data from CTD, ADCP and other instruments on R/V F.G. Walton Smith in the Florida and Loop Currents, 2007-05 to 2008-07 (NCEI Accession 0066847)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Oceanographic data were collected from a variety of sources during three cruises aboard the R/V Walton Smith (WS0714, cruise 1: May 29-June 14, 2007; WS0720, cruise 2: July 30-August 13,2007; WS0809, cruise 3: June 17-July 2, 2008). During each cruise the team sampled ichthyoplankton at approximately 100 stations throughout and upstream of the Straits of Florida (SOF). Throughout the entirety of the cruises the team collected data using a shipboard RD Instruments Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) with a 75 kHz system that measured deeper currents (16-208 m in 8 m depth bins).
