Hanalei Bay, Kauai tide, and directional current and wave data collected from Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), from 08 June 2006 to 05 September 2006 (NCEI Accession 0067695)

High-resolution measurements of waves, currents, water levels, temperature, salinity and turbidity were made in Hanalei Bay, Kauai, Hawaii, during the summer of 2006. A series of bottom-mounted instrument packages were deployed in water depths of 10 m or less. These data support the ongoing process studies being conducted as part of the US Geological Survey Coastal and Marine Geology Program's Pacific Coral Project. Finalized data were provided in ASCII format for the waves, currents, and water levels.

Global Daily Sea Ice Concentration Reprocessing Data Set for 1978-2007 from the EUMETSAT Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility (NCEI Accession 0068294)

These data constitute the reprocessed sea ice concentration data set from the EUMETSAT Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility (OSI SAF), covering the period from 1978-2007, with data from the Scanning Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (SMMR) and the Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I). The data set provides daily, global coverage at 10 km and 12.5 km spatial resolution. Ice concentration is computed from atmospherically corrected brightness temperatures, using a combination of state-of-the-art algorithms and dynamic tie-points.

Benthic data for corals, macroalgae, invertebrates, and non-living bottom types from Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary, South Pacific Ocean, 2007-04-02 to 2008-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0068364)

Benthic transects were repeated at 12 sites around Tutuila at various depths on the reef slopes and flats. Benthic coverage categories include coral species, invertebrates, and non-living substrate type. Annual surveys took place during 2005-2009. The most detailed data are from 2008. The data were provided as spreadsheets and metadata within a PDF document, focusing on the 2008 surveys.
