Chemical and physical oceanographic profile data collected from CTD casts aboard the SEWARD JOHNSON in the North Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico from 2010-07-10 to 2010-07-14 in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill event (NCEI Accession 0068586)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Chemical and physical oceanographic profile data were collected aboard the SEWARD JOHNSON in the North Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico from 2010-07-10 to 2010-07-14 in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill event on April 20, 2010, by the Subsurface Monitoring Unit (SMU), which consists of multiple government and corporate agencies. These data include CDOM fluorescence, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, fluorescence, hydrostatic pressure, salinity, sound velocity, temperature and water density. The instruments used to collect these data were CTD, fluorometer and oxygen meter.

Delta-15 Nitrogen values from all shores of Maui and benthic, algae, and urchin data from Kahekili, West Maui, 2007-2009 (NCEI Accession 0068665)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Hawaii Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) established an Herbivore Fisheries Management Area (HFMA) in front of Kahekili Beach Park in West Maui that was effective on July 25th 2009. The basis for the Kahekili HFMA arises from decadal benthic data (collected by DAR and partners since 1994) that shows that coral cover has been declining since 1999, whereas the abundance of algae has sharply increased, especially the abundance of the invasive algae Acanthophora spicifera. Thus the herbivore fish are more abundant to help combat the algae.

Chemical and isotopic tracers and other data from the Arctic Ocean from 1990-01-01 to 1999-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0068667)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
These data are water column and sediment data largely collected in the Bering and Chukchi Seas, with some coverage for the Beaufort and East Siberian Seas, and with limited coverage for other portions of the Arctic Ocean. Data include that collected on Alpha Helix cruises 139, 165, 166, 174,189, 190, 214, and 224 between 1990 and 1999. Other data were obtained from cruises of the RV OKEAN (1993), USCGC Polar Star (1993), Mendeleev (1993), USCGC Polar Sea (2000), U.S. Canada Arctic Ocean Section (1994), and Polarstern (1993).

Line W Hydrography including pressure, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, sulfur hexafluoride, and dissolved chlorofluorocarbons from bottle and CTD casts from R/V OCEANUS in the Northwest Atlantic from August 31st, 2009 to September 7th, 2009 (NCEI Accession 0068682)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset represent one of a series of hydrographic sections conducted along Line W from the continental shelf south of New England toward Bermuda. A total of 26 full depth casts consisting of CTD (conductivity, temperature, pressure and oxygen), LADCP (lowered acoustic Doppler current profiler), and rosette water samples were collected between 31AUG2009 and 10SEP2009. Salinity and dissolved oxygen were analyzed from water samples on board the ship and used to calibrate the CTD sensors. Water samples were also analyzed for transient tracers (CFCs, SF6 and I-129).
