Comparison of discrete and underway carbon dioxide (CO2) related measurements obtained during 21 cruises spanning the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Oceans and Gulf of Mexico between 1991 and 2020: inferences on the temperature dependence of the fugacity of CO2 (fCO2) in seawater (NCEI Accession 0247018)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset consists of the co-located surface discrete fCO2 at 20 ˚C and underway fCO2 measurements at sea surface temperature (SST) for 21 cruises spanning the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Oceans and Gulf of Mexico from 1991-07-12 to 2020-04-15. In addition, calculated fCO2 from alkalinity (TA) and total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) are provided. The co-located discrete fCO2 at 20 ˚C and underway fCO2 measurements at SST are used to infer the temperature dependence of CO2.

Zooplankton biomass and density collected from R/V LAURENTIAN, R/V LAKE GUARDIAN, AND R/V SHENEHON in Lake Michigan in the Great Lakes region from 1994-04-21 to 2004-08-19 (NCEI Accession 0247568)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) samples and studies the ecosystem of the lower food web of the Laurentian Great Lakes. This collection contains zooplankton biomass and density data at select 32 stations during the open water season in Lake Michigan from 1994-2004. Zooplankton density is given in the number of organisms per cubic meter and biomass is given in milligrams per cubic meter. This data accession also includes samples collected in support of the NOAA/GLERL Episodic Events - Great Lakes Experiment (EEGLE) from 1998-2001.

Walton Smith cruise WS21212 (EXPOCODE 33WA20210731) in the North Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico from 2021-07-31 to 2021-08-06 (NCEI Accession 0248266)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains the discrete profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on total scale, ammonia, water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and nutrients during the R/V F. G. Walton Smith cruise WS21212 (EXPOCODE 33WA20210731) in the North Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico from 2021-07-31 to 2021-08-06. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification.

Water Quality, Nutrients and Chlorophyll Data in Biscayne Bay, Government Cut and Offshore Reefs (NCEI Accession 0248362)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The dataset is from monthly Biscayne Bay Water Quality Sampling. Sites were selected to overlap with locations occupied by FDEP and DERM in order to increase temporal resolution of their long-term monthly datasets. To achieve this, our sampling typically occurs during the third week of every month to increase sample frequency to biweekly instead of monthly. Sampling is conducted from a small research vessel. An EXO is deployed to collect in-situ water quality measurements at every station, including temperature, salinity, chlorophyll and dissolved oxygen. pH is measured using a pH probe.
