This dataset includes surface underway data collected from R/V Sikuliaq Expeditions in the North Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea and Arctic Ocean from 2021-03-05 to 2021-11-23. These data include partial pressure carbon dioxide (pCO2) - air, partial pressure carbon dioxide (pCO2) - water, sea surface salinity, sea surface temperature and barometric pressure. The instruments used to collect these data include Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer and shower head chamber equilibrator for autonomous carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement.

In addition, calculated fCO2 from alkalinity (TA) and total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) are provided. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification.

The dataset is from monthly Biscayne Bay Water Quality Sampling. Sites were selected to overlap with locations occupied by FDEP and DERM in order to increase temporal resolution of their long-term monthly datasets. To achieve this, our sampling typically occurs during the third week of every month to increase sample frequency to biweekly instead of monthly. Sampling is conducted from a small research vessel. An EXO is deployed to collect in-situ water quality measurements at every station, including temperature, salinity, chlorophyll and dissolved oxygen. pH is measured using a pH probe.
