HECO annually conducts and reports results of a biological monitoring program for waters receiving effluent from the Kahe Generating Station, O'ahu, Hawai'i from 1977 to 1996 (NCEI Accession 9900012)

The volume of sand and silt entrained and circulated by operation of the Kahe Generating Station is an environmental parameter of considerable geological and biological importance. Wave-suspended sediments are carried in cooling water through the station's condensers and discharged from the station's outfall. Sediment entrainment represents a potential loss of sand from the littoral system which consequently affects the supply of sand available to maintain beach configurations in the area.

Temperature, salinity, and nutrients data were collected from CTD and bottle casts in the Pacific Ocean from the Nathaniel B. Palmer from 08 October 1996 to 05 November 1996. Data were collected as part of the US JGOFS Antarctic Environments Southern Ocean Process Study (AESOPS). CTD data include temperature and salinity profiles. Bottle data include concentration profiles of nitrate, nitrite, silicate, phosphate, ammonia, phaeopigment, and chlorophyll a.

Underway sea surface temperature and salinity data from thermosalinographs collected from multiple platforms assembled by NOAA Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML)

This collection contains sea surface oceanographic data in netCDF and ASCII formatted files assembled by the NOAA Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) from thermosalinographs from 2001-10-07 to present. The data are transmitted to AOML/NOAA in real-time and submitted to a quality control procedure developed at AOML. The dataset submitted to NCEI for distribution constitutes the complete dataset received by AOML with the corresponding flags after quality control.

GHRSST Level 2P Atlantic Regional Bulk Sea Surface Temperature from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) on the NOAA-17 satellite (GDS version 1)

A regional Level 2P Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature (GHRSST) dataset for the Atlantic Ocean and nearby regions based on multi-channel sea surface temperature (SST) retrievals from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) on the NOAA-17 platform (launched on 24 June 2002). The AVHRR is a space-borne scanning sensor on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) family of Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellites (POES) having a operational legacy that traces back to the Television Infrared Observation Satellite-N (TIROS-N) launched in 1978.

NASA produces skin sea surface temperature (SST) products from the Infrared (IR) channels of the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard the Terra satellite. Terra was launched by NASA on December 18, 1999, into a sun synchronous, polar orbit with a daylight descending node at 10:30 am, to study the global dynamics of the Earth atmosphere, land and oceans. The MODIS captures data in 36 spectral bands at a variety of spatial resolutions. Two SST products can be present in these files.

The dataset covers the Indian Ocean region with latitude of 60S-60N and longitude of 101.5E-18.5W.
