Cruise report for FS METEOR Cruise 60 Leg 3 from Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Ponta Delgada, Azores, during February 28 - March 14, 1982 (NCEI Accession 0078562)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The focus of this cruise leg was physical oceanography of the area between the Canaries and the Azores within the program of the SFB 133 'Warm water sphere of the Atlantic' at the University of Kiel. The goal was to investigate the ocean transport processes and mesoscale eddies in this branch of the large-scale North Atlantic circulation and to observe the characteristic distribution of water masses.

Oceanographic data collected during the EX1104 (Mid-Cayman Rise Exploration) expedition on NOAA Ship OKEANOS EXPLORER in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico from 2011-08-02 to 2011-08-18 (NCEI Accession 0078572)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This cruise will embark from Balboa, Panama, will transit and collect underway data through the Panama Canal toward the primary operating area, will focus its scientific objectives on the project operating area in British national waters in the vicinity of the Cayman Islands identified as the Mid-Cayman Rise, and will transit to Key West, Florida. Underway data will be collected during transit through all coastal states (with permits) with the exception of Columbia and Cuba. Primary mapping, CTD and ROV operations will be conducted in Cayman Island waters under British jurisdiction.

Water temperature, salinity, and surface meteorology measurements collected from the Tropical Moored Buoys Array in the equatorial oceans from 1977-11-03 to 2025-06-30 (NCEI Accession 0078936)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains text files from the The Global Tropical Moored Buoy Array Program, a multi-national effort to provide data in real-time for climate research and forecasting. Major components include the TAO/TRITON (Tropical Atmosphere Ocean) array in the Pacific, PIRATA (Prediction and Research Moored Array in the Atlantic) in the Atlantic, and RAMA (Research Moored Array for African-Asian-Australian Monsoon Analysis and Prediction) in the Indian Ocean.

Ocean currents data as part of Ordnance Reef Transport Study collected by ADCP from Ordnance Reef area of Oahu, Hawaii from 2010-01-17 to 2010-08-23 (NCEI Accession 0079514)
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Four high-precision sensor arrays at a conventional munitions disposal site off Waianae known locally as "Ordnance Reef" and one sensor array at a deep-water chemical munitions disposal site approximately 32 miles from Honolulu were deployed. In addition to providing data needed to determine where Pacific Ocean currents might carry munitions materials in the event of a release, the sensors help NOAA and University of Hawaii scientists study how munitions might be affected by the marine environment.

High Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS/4) Level 1B Data from NOAA and EUMETSAT
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
High Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS/4) is an instrument onboard the NOAA/POES and EUMETSAT/MetOp Polar-orbiting satellite series. NOAA/POES and MetOp Polar-orbiting satellites circle the Earth approximately 14 times per/day from an altitude of approximately 520 miles above the Earth. The Earth's rotation allows the satellites to see different views with each orbit, and each satellite provides two complete views of the same location each day. HIRS is a high-resolution infrared sounder with 20 channels used primarily for atmospheric temperature and water vapor detection.

NESDIS Blended Total Precipitable Water (TPW) Products
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The blended Total Precipitable Water (TPW) product is derived from multiple sensors/satellites. The Percentage of TPW normal (PCT), or TPW anomaly, shows the percentage departure of TPW from the NASA Water Vapor Project (NVAP) climatology (1988-1999). The blended products were merged from polar-orbiting and geostationary satellite sensors including: AMSU/MHS onboard the NOAA and MetOp satellite series; SSMIS onboard the DMSP satellite series; ATMS onboard S-NPP and NOAA-20; Sounder onboard the GOES satellite series; and GPS Met onboard Orbview-1.
