2004 Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron, Michigan Coastline LiDAR

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This metadata document describes the collection and processing of Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) data over
an area along the coast of Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron, Michigan. Data was collected at a nominal two (2) meter post spacing
between points. Two elevation data sets were compiled in this project, first surface returns, in which features that are
above the ground, such as buildings, bridges, tree tops, etc. have not been eliminated and a Bare Earth Data set.

2016 NOAA Topobathy Lidar: Upper Lake Michigan Islands

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

These data were collected by Leading Edge Geomatics using a Leica Chiroptera II Bathymetric & Topographic Sensor. The project consists of approximately 205 square miles of data along the shores of the Beaver Island Archipelago and South Manitou Islands in Upper Lake Michigan. The data were acquired between November 16, 2015 through December 5, 2015 for Beaver Island, North Fox Island, Gull Island, High Island, Garden Island, and Isle Aux Galets.

2005 Hancock and Jackson Counties, Mississippi LiDAR

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This metadata record describes the topographic mapping of Hancock and Jackson Counties, Mississippi during 2005.
Using a combination of laser rangefinding, GPS positioning and inertial measurement technologies; LIDAR instruments are able
to make highly detailed Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of the earth's terrain, man-made structures and vegetation. This data
was collected at submeter resolution to provide nominal 5m spacing of collected points. Multiple returns were recorded for each

H11617, NOS Hydrographic Survey in the vicinity of Mississippi Sound, Mississippi (2007)

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has the statutory mandate to collect hydrographic data in support of nautical chart compilation
for safe navigation and to provide background data for engineers, scientific, and other commercial and industrial activities. Hydrographic survey data
primarily consist of water depths, but may also include features (e.g. rocks, wrecks), navigation aids, shoreline identification, and bottom type information.
NOAA is responsible for archiving and distributing the source data as described in this metadata record.

2008 NOAA/NGS Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) LIDAR: Kenai Peninsula Alaska

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

These data were collected by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration National Geodetic Survey
Remote Sensing Division using an OPTECH ALTM system. The data includes topographic data in an LAS format file.
The data was collected 31 July - 1 August 2008 on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. It has been processed to bare
earth using only an automated routine - additional manual editing is required for localized use. The data covers
portions of the Outer and Inner Kachemak Bay coastline from Point Anchor to Homer and along the coast into the head

2008 NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) LIDAR: New Hampshire

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

These data were collected by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration National Geodetic Survey Remote
Sensing Division using an OPTECH ALTM system on June 8, 2008. The data includes topographic data in an LAS format file.
The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) processed the data to bare earth (class 2) and water points classified (class 9).
An automated filter was used, followed by semi-manual classification and bridge removal.
