Integrated Industry-Level Production Account (KLEMS)

The integrated industry-level production account (ILPA) contains estimates of the sources of economic growth. It allows analysts to trace aggregate GDP growth from its industry origins to changes in factors of production, including capital, labor, intermediate inputs, and (integrated) multifactor productivity. Accounts of this nature are often referred to as 'KLEMS' accounts and the 'integrated' terminology reflects a collaboration between the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and BEA to produce consistent estimates.

BEA has developed a preliminary set of statistics measuring the contributions of space-related industries to the overall U.S. economy.These estimates give business leaders, policymakers, and the public a new tool to analyze the space economy and to inform investment decisions.Preliminary estimates of the U.S. space economy's GDP, gross output, private employment, and private compensation by industry were published in the December 2020 Survey of Current Business.
