AFSC/ABL: 2009 Chinook Excluder Samples
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This project genetically analyzed 1,620 chinook salmon samples from the 2009 spring salmon excluder device test. These samples were collected over a short period of time from a limited geographical area and thus represent a unique sample set.

AFSC/NMML/CCEP: Channel Islands Pinniped Census
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The National Marine Mammal Laboratories' California Current Ecosystem Program (AFSC/NOAA) initiated and maintains census programs for California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) and northern fur seals (Callorhinus ursinus) at San Miguel and San Nicolas Islands, California. The program documents annual pup births, pup mortality, and temporal patterns in adult and juvenile presence at San Miguel Island. For both species, the database contains field data on the annual number of live pups and dead pups by location.

AFSC/NMML/CCEP: Gray whale survey and sightings ranging from California to Kodiak Island, Alaska conducted by the Marine Mammal Laboratory from 1993-07-05 to 2014-10-24
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Gray whale (Eschrichtius robustus) survey and sightings data from 1993 - 2014 collected by the Marine Mammal Laboratories' California Current Ecosystem Program (AFSC/NOAA) personnel. Gray whales surveys were conducted along the coasts of California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. Gray whales were counted and photographed during the surveys. This dataset contains the survey data for the sighted whales, survey effort, and photo logs from the surveys. This dataset does not contain the photographs or identifications of individual whales.

AFSC/NMML/CCEP: Food Habits of Pinnipeds at San Miguel Island, California
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The National Marine Mammal Laboratories' California Current Ecosystem Program (AFSC/NOAA) collects fecal samples to examine the diet of pinnipeds, including California sea lions (Zalophus californianus), northern fur seals (Callorhinus ursinus), northern elephant seals (Mirounga angustirostris), and Pacific harbor seals (Phoca vitulina) on San Miguel Island, California. Data are used to examine temporal changes in diet by the populations, as well as to make intra- and inter-specific comparisons at San Miguel Island.

AFSC/FMA/Current Observer Data Interface
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
North Pacific Groundfish observers collect real-time fisheries dependent data. This data is used to manage groundfish fisheries in domestic Alaskan waters. Fisheries dependent data that is collected by observers is in its rawest form. This data needs to be transformed so that end users of the data can use it for their specific needs. The purpose of the observer interface (OBSINT) is to take observer raw data and turn it into useable data products for different users of the data.

Development and field testing of satellite-linked fluorometers for marine mammals
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset includes telemetry data related to the development and testing of an animal-borne satellite-linked fluorometer tag, used on northern fur seals and Steller sea lions. This study is North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) Project 1119, "Development and field testing of satellite-linked fluorometers for marine mammals: shedding light on the unknown."

AFSC/RACE/SAP/Swiney: Effects of holding space on juvenile red king crab growth and survival
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Rearing crustaceans communally for aquaculture, stock enhancement or research often results in high rates of cannibalism and low yields. One potential strategy to reduce loss from cannibalism is to rear crustaceans in individual cells. As small holding cell size can result in decreased growth or increased mortality, it is essential to identify the optimal holding cell size, both for mass culturing efforts and for experimental design purposes.

AFSC/NMML Location-only satellite telemetry data for North Pacific Humpback Whales in the Bering Sea, 2007 - 2011
Data provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
This dataset contains ARGOS location data (latitude and longitude in decimal format) and associated time (date and time)
and location quality (as defined by Argos System, www.argos-system.org) information. Data were collected using Wildlife Computers
PTT-only SPOT 5 satellite transmitters and PTT identification is also provided with the data. Satellite transmitters were deployed
on North Pacific humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) in the eastern Bering Sea.
