mos116_0501d.tif -- Side scan sonar image from survey effort HMPR-116-2005-01d in the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This side scan sonar image of the sea floor was mosaiced from data collected in May 2005 onboard the NOAA vessel Tatoosh. An EG&G 272 side scan system was used for geophysical surveying using 100Khz data. A Trimble DSM212Ldifferential GPS was used for positioning. Navigation from the GPS were logged in Hypack version 2.6 (CoastalOceanographics). Isis Sonar (Triton Imaging International) was used to log the sonar packets and cable counter data. Sonar data were captured using at an 112m range scale setting.

mos118_0503a.tif -- Side scan sonar image from survey effort HMPR-118-2005-03a in the Olympic Coast national marine sanctuary.

Data provided by  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This side scan sonar imagery of the sea floor (140-350 m water depths) was mosaiced from acoustic data collected in 2005 aboard the NOAA ship McArthurII. A Klein System 3000 dual frequency side scan system was used for geophysical surveying, using only the 100Khz data to create the mosaic. A Trimble DSM212Ldifferential GPS was used for towfish positioning. Navigation from the GPS was logged in Hypack Max. Isis Sonar (Triton Imaging International) was used to log the digital sonar packets and cable counter data. Sonar data were captured using the 300m range scale setting.
