These facilities were primarily derived from a document from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources website. Due to changes after Hurricane Katrina, some marinas and boat ramps may have been abandoned or gone out-of-business. Some new facilities have been built since the document was published. This layer may not include all available facilities.

Louisiana Marinas and Boat Launches, Geographic NAD83, LOSCO (2004) [marinas_LOSCO_2004]

The dataset defines the location and supplemental information for marinas and boat launches in southern Louisiana. The boat launch database includes public and semi-private launches. Additional information includes details about the facility including location, description, comments, launch type (ramp, lift, etc.), launch depth, available power lighting, conveniences (stores, restrooms, restaurants, etc.) and more.
