From fall 2021 through summer 2023, NOAA and research partners conducted a field study (SPLASH - the Study of Precipitation, the Lower Atmosphere and Surface for Hydrometeorology). This field study established a state-of-the-art observing network in the East River watershed of the Colorado mountains with a goal of advancing weather and water prediction capabilities in areas with complex terrain. The ultimate goal of this project is improved prediction of weather and water in the Colorado mountains and beyond to inform societal preparedness and response.

Biological, physical, and chemical water quality data collected to assess diel patterns and short-term weather events during a sampling cruise aboard the R/V LAURENTIAN (R8001) from 2023-07-14 to 2023-07-25. These data were collected at several time points during each 24-hour period from the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory’s (GLERL) western Lake Erie near master station WE12, approximately five miles north of Reno Beach, Ohio.

This dataset contains bathymetry, marine magnetics, water temperature, salinity, and others collected by echo sounder, magnetometer, XCTD, and other instrumentation from the research vessel Hakuho-maru in Southern Marianas during KH-23-Ohara cruise. This dataset is the U.S. State Department MSR RATS U2023-014 as part of the World data center for oceanography and geophysics. Data are in various formats.

This dataset contains the trajectory profile data from glider SBU02-04 from one seasonal deployment to investigate conditions in the Middle Atlantic Bight including the monitoring of ocean acidification. The glider used for the automated observation includes an integrated deep rated version of the Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor (ISFET)-based pH sensor.
